Rectilinear

Good question, why didn't I. Been mighty busy as of late, guess I wasn't thinking at the time, just wanted to get parts to work with. Interesting the difference....but yes I thought the same, replace whats there without changing values. Any problem with having bare wires coming off the 201 transformer on the first control board? The wires on the 101 transformer seem to be coated with a black substance that is dried on. On the second control board all those same wires are fully insulated.

Any problem with having bare wires....
Yeah, I noticed that, too, but it won't be any problem as long as they do not criss-cross other bare wire or metal components. I just checked my earliest Rect Mini-III and it has a similar bare wire on this coil, whereas my more recent versions have coated wire.

If you simply do not trust the exposed wiring, electrical tape will do the job, or even liquid electrical tape.

There is a pair of 3b's on that auction site. Not my picture. If any one is interested. They do look a little different. s-l400.jpg

Interesting reading on this thread, thanks to all.

Have Mini iiis I need to get after.

I've never experienced Rectilinear, looking forward to it.
