Rek-O-Kut Turntables - ROK

Are these the washers recommended to be replaced? I am redoing the grommets and these are between the plate holding the motor and the spring and top plate/deck. They seem pretty hard, not sure if these on mine were original or replacements.

Just got my Rec-O-Kut B-12 running. Took a little time. It has the Micropoise S-120 arm. I had issues with the headshell wiring. 2 wires on the shell came off and I replaced them. has blue, white, brown and black wires. Apparently the terminals are not set like current arms & carts. Which of the contacts wire color point locations match with the pos & neg and right & left channel of current carts?
 
They do have different wiring configurations on occasion, that’s probably in the big ROK thread, just use your multi meter to determine how it’s wired. ROK headshells also come in different materials and weights, from fairly light to extremely heavy….
 
Question. In the manual parts list and on some pics of the B-12, there is a wire connected from the motor bottom and a bracket beside it. On mine, the tabs are there but no wire. I connected a wire with alligator clips, seems to do nothing. Should I go ahead and solder a wire in, anyway?

That's a ground wire. Your motor is probably suspended with rubber isolators effectively insulating it from the rest of the chassis, both vibration wise and electrically. My Russco table runs a wire like that as well. I'd go ahead and install it.

OK. Speed had been good on my B-12. I did routine maintenance according to the manual yesterday. So popped an album this morning. Didn't sound right. Was a little slow, enough to notice. What happened? Thoughts?
 
Interesting, your B12 has the same wire issue mine has if I’m looking at your picture correctly, one of the indicator light wires is severed/broken. Coincidence?

I think my table has this ground wire you’re referencing, I’ll see if I took a picture or if there’s any proof on the table, but it’s in a state of disassembly so I can only show you the wire taken off unless I sometime took a picture before it was disassembled.

Found a picture! You have to zoom in but it’s there. Can’t say the impact of it being there vs not.

Do you have a link to the manual parts list for the B12H? I’m searching for it but can only find reference to the vinyl engine file and they’re not accepting new users to log in. I thought there might be one uploaded to this thread but it’s evading me.

I'm still getting a little crackle when I touch the headshell.

Ok. The white wire to the shell pin was not well soldered. Came loose, dropped a channel. Resoldered to the pin and checked the others. Also ran a ground wire from a screw from under the metal plinth to the phono preamp ground. Now the table is dead silent, no fuzzy or hum, even with volume turned all the way up.

No matter how many times (maybe 6-8 times) I adjust the speed fine tune to sound correct, if the table sits for a while it runs slow and it takes several minutes to start moving to correct speed. I assume it's as the motor warms up.
