Remote volume control

Old thread. Was going to start a new one but I finally made a volume box and it works great. Much better then connecting a pre amp volume control

I built a Muses chip-based volume control, details are on DIYAudio.com. It has an optional programmable IR receiver and digital readout.

This is the guts of the passive remote volume control I built a few years ago. It integrates into the tape loop, not ideal but I noticed no audio quality degradation.
The board is mounted in a hobby enclosure with an external power supply. I had to relocate the infrared sensor and LED to be visible but other than that it was a simple as wiring in RCA's for input and output. It works great and can easily be taken out of the signal chain for "critical listening".

I thought there would be something you can buy like a box already made but everything is DIY still. Parts are available but im surprised a company has not made this thing on a professional level yet. I bet there would be lots of interest
