Replacement woofer for Minimus 77

Does anyone know of a source for 5" woofers that will fit a Minimus 77?

Hey ARRAY, thanks for the tip,I am quite interested in learning how to do that. I am going to check youtube for some instructional vids, if anyone knows of other good resources, please let me know.

I checked out a vid on how to replace a foam surround. It looks pretty easy. I checked parts express for surround replacement kits, didn't have any five inch. I'll keep looking but if anyone knows where I can find these, please post.

Foam surrounds for minimus 77s

After looking at a few sites I have learned that the woofers are not a standard size. They require a surround with an OD of 4 3/4" and an ID small enough to accommodate a speaker cone OD of 3 1/8". Standard surrounds with this OD have an ID of 3 1/8" leaving no overlap.

there does not seem to be an easy replacement for these speakers. I wish , I have a set sitting in my garage needing surrounds. Check out this thread

Thanks for the link. Seeing as I've never refoamed a speaker before I'm going to have to think for a little while before trying to tackle this. I might skip it all together and put the money I would spend on the surrounds towards building my first speakers (from a kit).

Refoam your speakers....buying just the foams is cheap.....and its fun to do !!!!!

I have Ella Fitzgerald playing now on a pair of speakers i refoamed myself......
