When replacing lamps or bulbs in vintage stereo receivers, do they all require soldering or is there ever a case of just unscrewing?

It all depends on what type of lamp is used. Axial or radial leaded lamps obviously require soldering. Fuse, bayonet, bi-pin, and wedge lamps do not.

Yes.:D

All types of lamps were used. Festoons, fuse lamps, bi-pins, grain of wheat, bayonet, Edison based, wedge based, etc, etc.

I think it entirely depended upon what the production people had available at the time.
