Revitalizing AK

I agree that the large number of sub-forums can result in some users not ever finding threads that they would otherwise contribute to. I will say though, that the Lansing Legacy section includes JBL, which includes a lot of speakers that don't use horns/waveguides, and aren't particularly efficient either.

Truly, JBL direct radiators would have to go in the general speaker forum. But most interest in JBL seems to be in their horn and horn-direct radiator hybrids. And lots of Horn DIYers use JBL drivers but not JBL systems.

I would love a horn speaker subforum. Most of the activity in the Klipsch Korner is from guys, myself included, who use Klipsch as a starting point for their DIY horn experiments. I think it might be more useful to have a more ecumenical place where horns could discussed agnostic of brand affiliation.

Why not just have a couple speaker modification forums with one being for horns? Could also have a subforum for each that's for DIY speaker builds from scratch. That would help the brand specific forums to focus on stock speakers only.

Actually, I don’t see that as unfortunate.
Always interesting and a nice break from audio.
I can't imagine belonging to any club in which the only thing(s) discussed or conversed about, fell within the comfy parameters and confines of its main raison d'etre...I wouldn't visit a second time. I come here for some of the characters just about as much as I do the audio stuff...

Frankly, I'm here as much for the digressions as for the topics at hand.

Paraphrasing Groucho Marks:

"I would never join a club that would have me as a member."
:)

We are a vanishing breed. The industry is a vanishing one. If you compare the amount of people, resources and money that goes into VR and gaming and compared it to serious audio, we would not even register.

We are the candlemakers in Edison’s new light bulb world.

As Sir Savoy Brown once said, "Now wouldn't be a real drag if we were all the same."
