Rotel,Cambridge. Is it worth the price?

On the surface this seems like a very good deal. The only caution I will give is that, since the Rotel uses a Philips transport, when the laser goes belly up you have to replace the entire CDM unit to a tune of $200 for the part, if it is still available. So you are looking at a future investment or boat anchor. Before you decide to buy it, you should do some research to see if the CDM unit is still available and buy one as a spare. I prefer CD players with Sony lasers in them. Most of the Sony lasers can be purchased for around $20, and are readily available, due to their wide usage in many makes and models.
