Rotel RA-1412 Restoration Project

I am attaching jpg images of an annotated circuit board diagram of the Power amp module of the RA-1412. It is marked with blue highlighting indicating where the CB leads need to be flipped and Orange highlighting where they do not need to be flipped. I also penciled in the substitute transistor used though it is hard to read. The spreadsheet in a previous post is a better reference for this particular board.

Here is the annotated parts list from the Rotel service manual. I penciled in the transistor substitutes I used for the amplifier. It is a bit hard to read but may be useful.

Here is a spreadsheet I put together of most of the parts I used on the Rotel. There is some repetition and I generally order extras to have on-hand going forward. Most but not all of the transistors are included in the sheet. Hopefully it will be useful.

What size heat shrink did you use for those 2 transistors? Are those two of the transistors that require matching?

Here is a picture of the Rotel placed on a rack in our house in Michigan. I have it attached to the Sony PS-X700 turntable and JBL E100 speakers to play my old vinyl albums. The Rotel is perfect for this role, nice warm sound with effortless power to spare. I was looking to sell it and at one point had it listed on Bartertown but I think it is a keeper!

It is an impressive amplifier, I am looking to get a RA-1312 it's smaller cousin. I use it to play vinyl. You will be very pleased!

Thought about the RA-1312, but it's not a dual mono design like the RA-1412...which is what sealed the deal for me on the bigger brother

One thing I wanted to mention regarding my RA-1412 is that when I plugged it into a surge protector it caused the overload indicator to come on and stay on. It took me a while to realize that for whatever reason it only functions properly plugged directly into a wall receptacle.

If I may ask, were you able to find a service manual for the RA-1210 where the schematics were clear and easy to read? On the ones I have found, the entire manual is very clear, but the schematics are a little tough to read

Last evening I started replacing the four main filter capacitors as I already had them on-hand. I did the right channel first and used screw terminal capacitors for replacement, 22,000 UF 80V. The installation was pretty straightforward and went without issue. I will do the Left channel power supply today.

How did the screw terminal caps workout? Are those Chemi-con? Looks like they fit well in the original clamps.

I used two-sided foam tape to increase the diameter of the replacement caps to fit the existing clamps.

I had the same issue, manual was clear but the schematic drawings were grainy and difficult to read. I looked all over but everyone including Rotel has the same manual with the same grainy schematics unfortunately.
