Russco Studio Pro Plinth Build

Ha, no, not anymore. Last time we sang Christmas tunes around the piano was years ago before her parents passed. The good old days. Actually, that's not true, her and Elvis attended our big family reunion in 2014 and I ended playing guitar and singing with Elvis Costello, was a lot of fun. CCR Bad Moon a Risin', but he didn't know the words so I had to lead.

Picked that album for testing because it’s so well done and it’s 45rpm,it’s a standard test album for me….glad it connected us to your sharing those events

I mostly have CDs of her material, my son gave me a Christmas present of her last album (vinyl), which I haven't opened yet, but it will be on the list when I get the Russco done, maybe even sooner if I get the SP-10MKII setup again. It shouldn't be in the shop.

Those chips are amazingly thin, I had to look up the definition of diaphanous, and yes they are! I'm just surprised that you can work end grain with that kind of delicacy. Never would have thought it possible.
It's funny, I grew up with my Dad always building stuff from wood, including two grandfather clocks. His shop was in the basement, same place were I was always working on my hobbies and I hated all the sawdust that got into everything. But you don't produce that fine dust, at least very little of it, mostly shavings.
That dust is part of what kept me away from woodworking, plus woodworking power tools like a table saw scare the hell out of me. Now running a big monster metal lathe making big blue chips that will brand you if your not careful is fun for me. LOL Different strokes for different folks.
Looks like you made a lot of shavings making that bench. It's a work of art.

Bill, I'm totally with you on this (from post 90). I worked in a shop making submarine parts for a couple years while doing pre-med nights for chiro school. My table saw scares me more than anything I ever did in that shop with the big lathes, mills, etc.

So, what was the final verdict on the two delrin idlers? bushing or no bushing?

Those plinths would fit right in here.... I built a pair of open baffle Lii F15 speakers with a large plank of black walnut I bought 35 years ago; they are gorgeous, and sound great with nice tube amps and the "Bucket Subs" I have them running with. I wish I had some more of that wood......
