RX707 Dull Playback

I've been experiencing dull playback with my RX707. Not sure what the culprit could be.
Heads and transport has been fully cleaned and even d'magged.

Any ideas?

Are you speaking of a WD-RX707?

Does this happen with multiple tapes?

Have you cleaned the pinch roller? Is it in good shape-not glazed and no cracks?

Try cleaning the head again-use alcohol and rub very firmly in the direction of tape travel.
