RIP 1961-2018
Anyone happen to have a SAMS fo the Pilot SA232. The schematic that is floating around the net is nearly illegible and I want to gut this thing for the dishwasher.

Ha ha. I actually joined the Pilot Yahoo group but this poor old gal ahd a bad OPT that took out the PT as well. It looked fine untill I took the bottom off, somebody had really cobbled in up in there. What a shame, I wonder if anyone is winding the Pilot iron these days? Thanks Rex, got it.

Seems like I remember Redboy having this same issue once?:scratch2:
Yep... thanks for drudging up a painful memory, man! :tears:

:D

That's a real bummer about the iron, Jay. They ran that amp hot though, and I think it was probably a common plight of the 232. A 'lytic gives up the ghost and takes out some good iron when it goes... Too bad.

I got lucky and was able to work my way down through the wax and paper to attach new hook up leads. They ohm out good now and the PT makes power so I;m hopeful.

Here she be's, all revved up and ready to sing. I wish I had shot a before pic, it was definitely dumpster quality.:D Funny thing about this one is the guy isn't an AK'er, just a guy I know through work. He asked me if I could fix it and I said sure. He thinks he may have some old Genelex KT66s to trade.:dunno: I can't wait to see his face when he gets her back.:D

My goodness that looks ..., well that looks..., sweeeeeet.

I love the wood trim treatment, suits it perfectly. Is that oak baseboard? I have some spare pieces of oak flooring around that I've been considering for a similar usage.

Beautiful job Jay :thmbsp:

I'd love to be there when his jaw drops.

Cheers

Tung Oil is wonderful stuff:yes: Good thing it goes so far. It increases the patina, gives a nice satin finish, and protects at the same time; and it can be easily repaired.

The colors of the chassis and the wood sure are synergistic :D.

Rock chock...er...um....

Very nice Jay :thmbsp: Bet it sounds like a million bucks

This reminds me that I need to get Henry to make the walnut base for my 232that matches the case he made for the 210.

Duuuuude! That turned out really nice, Jay! Hey, what did you use under the transformers for standoffs/ isolation mounts?

If you go to the hardware store and look in the little pull out drawer bins, they have all different shapes and sizes. Just look for the drawers that say Nylon. I use the thin little nylon washers on endbells and crap. Gives it a nice finished look, and they're cheap too.
