last week i bought the sansui au 919 off of ebay said it blose one fuse it shoud be in this week i will post pics when it comes in

well i got my sansui au 919 in and the guy said it would blow one fuse so i done some checking and found two out puts on the right channel blown and on the left channel found one drive transistor shorted base to collector but the out puts in the left channel where fine the right channel i had some 2sa909s laying around and a 2sc1586 laying around so i put them in to see what else was going on so i brought it up on the varyac and the relay kick in the left channel plays fine the right channel has low output and distorted i even tryed to use it as a power amp and the right channel is still distorted and the drive transistor get hot so im going to order parts and recapp both driver boards and replace the transistor on the driver boards on both channels and hopfully the new transistors fix the distortion on the right channel

thank echo wars i check all the resistor they are fine i check the emmiter resisitors they are fine the heat sink of this amp looks like a g 9000 heat sink did they take some of the dezine off of a sansui g 9000

You forgot to mention the total lack of capital letters and the horrendous spelling.

Nice to see an AU-919 being bought back to life. Hope you get the remaining problems resolved with the recap!
I took the liberty of cleaning up the punctuation and spelling, and editing it a little to be a bit more readable. [I don't mean this as a criticism; perhaps you have valid reasons for writing that way, but text with no punctuation is difficult to read and can be confusing and misleading. Just trying to help ease communication here.]

C'mon guys!
Anyone ever heard of e.e. cummings - one of the greatest American poets ever - used to write just like that so's he'd get his message across more clearly without capitals and grammar and even spelling.
georgedannyg is one of a handful of guys on this entire forum who would DARE to tackle a 919 with any confidence of success. We need more guys like him and you scare him off by criticizing his grammar :nono:

Im not mad buy any means when i get in to typing and dont think about putting periods or commas or capital letters.But one the sansui au 919 im in the process of replacing all the transistors on the right driver board. And replacing all the caps on the driver board.And doing echwars mod on the power supply so i will report back i cant wait to get it up and runing to see what it sounds like. And sorry if there is to many and,the,lol just kidding:thmbsp:

Well guys the sansui au 919is alive. I completly rebuilt the driver board on the left side i was having trouble with.And dailed in the dc and bias current to specs and done echowars mod on the power supply when i get it reapped i will post pics thanks guy for all your help and thanks for the mod echowars.

i did not replace the main filter caps u replaced the power supply caps on both power supply boards and replaced the caps on the driver board with post pics when i get off work of the inside
