In my opinion using one of these capacitor kits will not give an optimal end result for your AU-919. There is only one seller of such kits that I can recommend and that is 'peace.love.and.music' site on ebay (direct ebay links not allowed), the site owner is an AK member and is not only trustworthy, but does supply good capacitor kits. However, I couldn't find a full AU-919 kit on his website.

For a classic piece like the AU-919, the comprehensive restoration needed is best carried out by someone with experience in such work. Such a person would know how to order the correct replacement parts for each location in the AU-919. Not the scattergun approach provided by many of these capacitor kit suppliers, who tend to provide an 'audio grade' replacement capacitor for everything - this is not correct and won't give the best result.

The problem is that in our country it is very difficult to find reliable technicians. the technician here repairs the amplifier using only a multimeter. does not have oscilloscope, etc

Quite a few AK members have had bad experiences with this seller. His reputation under his previous user name (captainfantastic) became so bad that he had to change it.

I don't have a clearer version of that picture either, but I have done the adjustment many times, so I can give you some pointers that may help you.

To measure the bias current you need to find the emitters of the output transistors, and connect your multimeter probes to them, remember you will be measuring a voltage. Looking from the top of the unit down into the heatsink channel where the transistor pins and emitter resistors are, you should be able to find the two emitter connections - one for each of the top two output transistors. (Look at page 9 in the SM). You can't do this using standard multimeter probes - you MUST use mini-grabbers. Also (for safety, to avoid shorting anything), I recommend making the connections with the unit turned off. Make sure your meter is on the correct range, and you may want to select a high voltage range to begin with, just in case you have selected the wrong locations for your mini-grabbers, obviously with an auto-ranging meter this isn't an issue. Make sure you are on a DC mV range to measure the voltage. Make the Left channel adjustment connecting to R705 & R707, and the Right channel adjustment connecting to R708 & R706. Remember to turn the unit off when repositioning your probes for the other channel.

Then just follow the SM instructions regarding bias setting Don't bother with setting the bias trimmers 'fully counterclockwise' before adjusting, if you are just checking a previously made adjustment. Bias setting instructions can be found on the top right of page 3 of the SM.

Yes, but although they apply to BOTH channels the bias measurement points are shown on the other channel. ;)

(i.e. the channel below the one you have shown in your schematic snip).

Yes, correct - but if you have an auto-ranging digital multimeter it doesn't matter (in this case), which way round the minigrabbers are connected. You just need the reading to be 20mV and it doesn't matter if the meter says -20mV or +20mV after adjustment.

If you have an analog multimeter (with a scale and a pointer), then polarity is important as the meter wont read properly with the minigrabbers attached with incorrect (opposite) polarity.
