Schiit Fans ?

I suppose they could move toward toroidal transformers although I don't know whether that would reduce or eliminate the hum. In my case, the unit sits in an enclosed 'hutch' entertainment unit that has one end open to the air when in use. The transformer hum that I noted above is no doubt amplified by being in such a cubby, but it's also not hearable when a foot or so away so unless it gets much worse I'll probably never pay attention to it again.

I can say without a doubt that the Vidar/Saga combo sounds superior to my Yamaha A-S801 and Cambridge CXA81 that were in the main system previously. I'd guess it would take a LOT more than $1000 to beat them.

My Aegir and Saga S are both in exposed positions, which "highlights" any transformer noise. A semi enclosed cabinet would likely reduce the noise. I have been through multiple class A amps and find the Aegir is excellent driving my Klipsch Chorus speakers. Once the ground loop issue was resolved, the Aegir and Saga S are silent through my very sensitive speakers.

I'm happy to say :naughty:

I recommended to a 30 something yo friend of the family a Schiit Rag2 silver... He is very satisfied.

As for as I know he just added an iFi Zen Stream and Klipsch 600m

(on edit) Holy cow... I just checked the price of PAIR 600m... <$400 new -- I'm guessing the release of the 600m II drove the price down

Yes, I just picked up a pair of RP-500M for under $350.00
I have a new Schiit Mani 2 on order but they're 4-6 weeks out. :(

Schiit URD

Would have thought the CD Transport would be out by now...

Probably the world's condition the last 2yrs and Schiit's over ambitiousness are the 'problem'

According to their last live video one day ago... The URD will be for sale on the website soon...

I got the 'feeling' by or before the end of Summer

I am at week 6+ of a 6-8 week wait on a Gungnir.
Well, change of plans at the 8 week mark. They announced that the backordered Gungnirs could start shipping, BUT would be missing the VXCO function of the Adapticlock. That was a nonstarter for me, as the Adapticlock was a feature I definitely wanted. Backorder cancelled last night. Today I placed an order got the Yggy LiM flavor and it shipped same day. Should have it late next week.

Tis a strange time we live in no doubt. Let us know what you think of the Yggdrasil!

One week ago I ordered an Yggdrasil OG b-stock. It arrived Wednesday and I have been using it for over three days now. It sounds a lot like my Bifrost 2, but the sound is more refined and detailed. My Yggy OG sounds better every day, some people have told me it could take up to a month before it is completely burned in. I like my Yggy OG.

Ha, I almost clicked on a black LiM in B-stock the night that I got the email from Schiit about the Gungnir backorders. As expected, it was gone the next morning. Full price on the black one that is on the way.

Well... I briefly heard the above system... The 600m do in fact have a mid or upper mid suck-out but IMO not as bad some online say it is

However we could not figure out how to incorporate a Schiit EQ in his set-up  If he ordered one

I told him to stop reading online reviews/measurements :D Just enjoy his music

In the last 2 months I’ve sold my Freya+, Gungnir Multibit and Vidar. The SQ from that set up was quite excellent. In-the-room live at times. But I got tired of the Schiit reach around. Bending down, reaching in to the back of each unit, to turn in and off.
Then, it takes 20 for them to warm up and sound their best! (Oops, except Gungnir, I left that on). I wanted remote power on/off, and better performance upon power up.
I ended up with the Parasound Hint. All in one integrated, and the sound is pretty nice, though not the equal of the Schiit gear. It was what I expected, and I’m good with that.
I don’t listen as critically to this set up anymore. When I want to do that I’ve got the Asgard with multi card, Mimby(when the mood strikes) and a few different sets of cans.
I will be getting the Bifrost later this year, and I’m interested in the Lokius and Jotunheim 2. I’ll always be a Schiithead at heart!

Yes, I experimented with power strips, surge bars, different configurations and the like. In the end I thought, “why can’t they just make them power on by remote? Like everybody else!”

I’d gladly pay the extra, but they really are stubborn about certain things like that…

Wow. I snagged one when they were released. It really is better than the Mani, the wait will be worth it. Too bad about the supply issues though.

Yeah, patience is not one of my strong suits. But I agree it will be worth the wait, my nephew snagged one back in January when lead times were more normal. I waited a bit too long to pull the trigger apparently.
