You're right. Why should I worry about people who make Schiit hardware anyways?

Umm, back to the original subject -
I currently have a Freya+ and an Yggdrasil Analog 2 DAC in my main system. Freya+ is running Tung-Sol 6SN7GTB tubes (although I find them a bit microphonic, but only noticeable when operating the volume control.) Power amp is currently a Purifi 1ET400A connected via balanced outputs on the Freya+ and my primary input source is a Pi2AES/Raspberry Pi streamer with Roon. Using all balanced inputs and outputs, the system is perfectly silent.
Very happy with both Schiit components. Had a Bifrost for many years and upgraded it to the multibit, before selling it off and going with the Yggdrasil. I've never had a quality control issue - everything has just worked as it should.

I've had several Schiit components as well (BifrostMB, Gungnir MB, Freya, Aegir x2) - never a QC issue. I've found them to be very very fair to deal with. Only thing I ran into was that Aegir wasn't enough power to sound "full" and deep on my Revels. So I contacted Schiit about using two (as monoblocks). We all understood that since my F228Be's drop down to 3.4 ohms at 98 Hz - running Aegir's as monoblocks might not work. Aegir as monoblocks sounded GREAT, but their protection circuit would "shut down" the amp on larger bass transients. No biggie Schiit let me send them back for a refund - and we all learned that using Aegir as a monoblock on F228Be's isn't a good idea
Aegir monoblocks would be killer on speakers with more traditional 8 ohm type loads (with minimums at around 6 ohms or greater).

Glad to hear about Schiit working with you on the Aegir's and your Revels. I'm running Focal Aria 906's right now, which aren't nearly as demanding as the F228Be's but have thought about trying the M126Be's, which are much more demanding.
And that brings it back around to "why Schiit?" A boutique vendor, selling American made products, providing direct support of their products. I also own a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum integrated amp for the same reason. I have been contemplating replacing the Purifi amp with either 2 of the Aegir's or a Rogue Audio Hydra. I guess I'll wait and see what this new mono amp from Schiit will be.

Both are excellent value for the $ spent.
The Modi 3+ blows my mind… that kind of sound for $99???

While it’s sound my not be everyone’s cup of tea, one could never call it unmusical or lacking sufficient detail.
Just my opinion, both these Dacs, in their own way of course, this is what music should sound like IMHO.
For me, i’m not editing making a record or a musician trying to lay down a track.
Purely a consumer…

I run a pair of Ageir’s monoblock driving either a pair of ADS L1230’s or a pair of JBL L100t. Both are quite efficient speakers and don’t have any difficult low impedance drops. I use a Schiit Magnius as the preamp with XLR inputs from a Modius DAC and RCA inputs from my turntable (via phono amp).
With this system the sound of the ADS’s in particular is truly something special.

The Schiit R2r aren't for everyone.
Some people prefer a more musical digital airy sound like the Modi3+-and would assume Modius.
Nothing wrong with that.
Plenty of detail, musical and fun not like your missing anything.
Bass, unlike some early D/S is plentiful and tuneful.
The MB's-BF2 on up, or more analog sounding-not exactly like a lp-RtoR, but close.
But not everyone likes it.
The Modi MB is closer to a R2R/NOS dac-in a different category IMHO.
This sound had even more character-so it limits it's fans.
After almost 40 years of digital-it's not surprising many people prefer a more digital sound-like the well done-current D/S dac's.
Myself I can appreciate both-depending on the mood/source etc.
I think alot of people-even in a very high-end system-the Modi3+ or Modious is all they really need.
It's really hard to fault their sound-or it would be unlivable etc.
My end point here-the Schiit MB Dac's aren't really a natural progression from a Schiit D/S Dac.
Or any D/S Dac in to a R2R/NOS.

EQ ing and making presets remotely from my chair is pretty enticing.
I agree-something around 40 hz-at least for a sealed system.

Update on the Ragnarok 2 Fully Loaded
It has sorta grown on me... Instead of cussing what it doesnt do or have , play to its strengths
1. With a SUT the phono is good... I believe the phono card sounds better than the MANI. If so , probably because of the Power Supply or maybe a slight difference in design
2. Using an ifi Zen Stream into the USB DAC is a surprise... Damn good (If you like True Multi-Bit)
3. Can drive all of my speakers with no problem (60w 8ohms)
4. Nice above avg HP amp

Using a Freya + here for my 2-channel listening. It receives an analog signal from a McIntosh D100 pre-amp/headphone amp/DAC that connects to a NAS. All of it is controlled by Roon and ultimately feeds my McIntosh MX151 processor, MC501 amps and the Aerial Acoustic Model 8 speakers.
I had a Modi DAC for a while and used it in a second system consisting of a 1TB HD, Oppo BDP-93 multi-player & a Yamaha CA-1020 receiver. I compared the Oppo DAC to the Modi DAC performance and the Modi won that contest. I've since passed the Modi on to a friend, sold the Yamaha and now use a Yamaha receiver with a USB input. The Oppo is sitting quietly in the main system rack for now.
I'd say both products brought with them better performance, clarity and definition to the music. I am very happy with my Schiit products and keep contemplating replacing the D100 with a Schiit Yggdrasil "Less Is More" unit.

I want to Double-Down on how well the Rag2 preforms in a 'decent' new system
I did some rearranging and got rid of some stuff... Current '2nd' system

Reloop 7000Mk2 w/Ortofon Concord Cart OM30
Schiit Ragnarok 2 Fully Loaded (Rag2 can accommodate the 3 above)
ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UBR62
Minus the tuner could probably get all for $4000 including cables/wires

Probably the world's condition the last 2yrs and Schiit's over ambitiousness are the 'problem'

According to Jason and Mike, the hardware has been finalized for some time. The rest has been tweaking software, for bug-free operation, and for compatibility across all platforms.
