Jason and Mike are holding a SchiitrMeet this evening, at 4:00pm PST. With Mike involved, I'm sure there will be discussion concerning the transport, and it's status.

Also, I don't believe any beta transports have gone out to testers just yet. Mike fabbed a test module, that would go out first, followed by the actual transport, once the results of the test modules were obtained.

Keep your eyes on the Schiit website, they announced that there will be a limited run of a few hundred of them coming sometime soon. I currently use a Freya S in my main system, and am very happy with it.

It's like I thought. The Unison test modules have shipped to beta testers. Once that data is collected, transports will roll out next.

Also, the biggest surprise of the Q&A, was Jason showing the off the new Tyr mono amp! Choke driven, with 200wpc 8 Ohms, and 400 at 4 Ohms! Continuity circuit like Aegir, plus Nexus tech. A guesstimate price of $1200 to $1500 each. Sweet.

This may be of some Interest...

Have seen where BlueSound's newest Node will soon , via software update , be able to output through USB to DAC. Many Schiit fans love the USB input on their DACs
 
Last Thursday FedEx delivered my Aegir amp, yesterday FedEx delivered my Freya S, Bifrost, and Mani. Everything is now installed on my main system. My sources are a VPI Prime Scout turntable, a Mac Mini M1, and a McIntosh MCT450 CD transport. The Bifrost is a very nice sounding DAC. The Mani sounds nice when I play vinyl. The Freya S is excellent sounding and is a very good pre-amp. The Freya S replaced a McIntosh C2500 pre amp and the Freya S sounds better(clearer and sharper). The Aegir replaced a Dennis Had Inspire Hot Rod KT66 tube amp. The Aegir is an improvement it has the nice midrange of a tube amp, but it has the low frequency punch that the single ended tube amp was fairly light on. My Klipsch LaScala speakers are sounding beautiful. I can not wait to get some time on the Schiit equipment to see how much it opens up during the first 200 hours,

I own a Modi, and a Fulla.
Both quality products that do what they say they will, and won't break the bank.
I haven't had any high end Schitt though.

Agreed. I have had the Aegir for a couple of weeks now paired with Klipsch Chorus speakers. Very nice and it is a keeper in my rig. The Aegir replaces a small collection of amps (Sony TAN-5550 V-Fet, Pass F3 clone, and an Elliott DOZ) all of which sounded quite nice but I was looking for something new.
 
It's like this. I don't have any of their gear and never will.

That Grade 2 attitude and snickering 8 year old thing about saying a bad word just turns me off. It's like Beavis and Butthead. Pianist - huh huh huh.

How can you take a manufacturer of audio equipment seriously when they live in that world?

Really? I guess that I never had a problem taking anyone seriously that has a sense of humor. I just just don't believe those things are mutually exclusive, but I guess that a lot of folks do. It seems like there's always been this kind of debate in the arts: visual, music, theater, literature, film, etc whereby some folks are all too ready to dismiss a work that has humorous aspects as something that's lightweight and not worthy of any real consideration. That's always seemed like a hopelessly limiting way to look at things to me though. Schiit though as a company must be doing something right and as such the folks who run it have got to be pretty serious about their game plan. I don't know so much about their more expensive offerings, but they have a line of inexpensive components that are some the best performing in their price range are made in America which tend to be far more beautifully made and finished than the competition. I have a Vali headphone amp, which was very inexpensive and sounds far better than plugging my phones directly into the amp. The fact that the name is silly is maybe just kind of a bonus... and besides when I'm using it and getting lost in the music, I'm not thinking of the name of the thing anyway, so why would it even matter what the thing is called? The fact is that it's just another foreign seeming name that comes across as a bit silly when translated to English... and there are plenty of those.

And besides, what's wrong with Beavus and Butthead anyway? That stuff is classic!!!

I just don't have time for that, and can't take it seriously, as much as they would (maybe?) like to grow past that by pretending it's some kind of Scandinavian spelling that doesn't mean ****.

The initial gist of this thread was to find out if there were/are fans of this manufacturers product. Having read various threads and posts in the past on their various models it seems a LOT of folks are myself included.

I'm not trying to be funny here and I wouldn't want to offend the posters sensibilities but would these posts be considered "Thread Crapping"?

Schiit Audio is a great company, producing fantastic gear. While Jason Stoddard and Mike Moffat may have a warped sense of humor, that doesn't discount their achievements. Check the latest listing of Stereophile's Recommended Components. Several different Schiit pieces included. Still, it's fine if you don't want to own any of their gear. That means more for me! Nine pieces and counting! :D
