Short circuit connecting preamp with amp (RCA)

Pk Peter I made the mesurements in the primary and secondary.

Primary:

Black/White : OL
White : OL
Black : OL
Black/Red : OL

Secondary:

Brown 1: 0.4
Brown 2: 0.4

White Brown : I didnt take the readings.

it doesn't look shorted to ground .so that's good .
is the brown/black grounded good ?

or something is connected wrongly .

note the different symbols ..

Conections to ground in the amp are like this.

In the relay board [pin 5] goes to Chasis (one metal leg that holds the board to chassis).[pin 6] goes directly to filter caps copper bridge.

In each amp board there is a BLACK WIRE that connects them directly to filter caps copper bridge too.

And finally the input RCA's shells connects to the amp boards lead that connects also to the BLACK WIRE.

The only thing that i dont undertand very much in the diagram is that in the RCA's for example J1 there is a ground symbol in the shell(2). But there is also a ground symbol in the inner side (1).

I changed the RCA's for gold ones BTW.

are the rca wires shielded ? i think it means the shield is grounded .and the rca outer shell is also grounded

Here are photos of the RCA's The wire that connects the RCA'a and the amp boards is the Original Marantz wire.

they look to be insulated from the chassis on the outer shell . according to the diagram they should be grounded .
did they not have grounding washers with solder tabs when you got them ?

I realy dont know. I just got that.

But when I use the DMM in diode mode (continuity) and touch the outer shell and the chassis it beeps.

But when i touch the inner shell and the chassis no beep.

I can take the plasic washers from the RCA's if its needed. do you think thats tha problem? The New RCA's?

Yep allready...

Do you think that maybe internally one wire is touching the metal case of the trafo and this conducting AC to the chassis? sorry if this is illogical or stupid.

your resistance readings say not . did you have your meter on megohms ?

if you are getting the beep they are connecting good .. leave them as they are for now .

Thanks Peter, do you think there is something more to do or somewhere to look?

IF I modify the wiring to work with a grounded plug (3 wired plug) do you think
that coul solve the problem? or its beter to stay with the original design?
