The amplifier arrived operational but exhibited intermittent noise from oxidized controls. All switches and potentiometers were thoroughly cleaned and treated, after which the issue was completely resolved. The amplifier will then be fully restored as a preventive measure for long-term reliability.

It’s been a while. Too long. Had a lot on my plate since spring and looking forward to a return to normal and some Sansui time this fall. In the meantime “Cleo” is keeping the vynil warm.

I did it again. Just browsing Yahoo auction Japan today.
An almost not used Sansui DA-α607i, mint condition, original box and with the remote.
Fair price, so I won the auction.

@GrisPato How has your DA-α607i been working out for you? I just won an auction for one. Looking forward to playing with it. I just ran a search here and there are no threads (that I could find) for this cool piece of gear. And your 2023 post here is the only one of it's kind (that I could find). Rare bird.

Swapped the CD-X701i with the "silver-230V"-Frankenstein CD-alpha717DR and silver matches silver again.

The silver 717DR had a serious issue. It could play for days and then all of a sudden a CD that played without issues before wasn't read/played any more. Other CDs still played. And few hours later, they didn't play either, but the first one did again. Kinda very strange.
Gave it to repair to AudioVideum in my hometown Nuremberg. Due to lack of service manual, they tried to calibrate/adjust it with no luck. I then gave them my other working 230V-black 717DR and they measured values and adjusted the silver-one accordingly. Now it has been playing for a week without any issue. Fingers crossed.
