After getting a cheap needle while coming back home, I saw an hi-end store and with a preaiming of looking at new players, I took a short listening period to an already warm demo consisting of far east all valve products from cd to integrated amp, fed to 9k $ s.. fa... spk's. It took really short. I could not understand what valves do there, It did not interest me and was not close enogh to its 5 times costlier 100k superaudio system I experienced, I came home 5 minutes later and turned the sytem on. At home, more extended and purely delicate trebles filled the room when sys is cold. original vfet sound(yes simply more natural) covered the flowing MUSIC with sometimes equal or sometimes tiny bit less details on midband really so less. Bass control was so close to it. If there is one thing missing, it is tiny bit more energic sound and tiny bit more control to simply blow the 20k 2007 system from the world, yet it was not involving, harsh, hard, cold, cut, slower in transients sometimes, not well integrated and there was not a music flowing in an integrity. Even it is a professionaly matched system so easily by material power in the hand.
I never sell my xa7. Rather than upgrading to a beter player now I think of doing a cheap, effective clock mod for it. I know tiny lack on energy and control is 1/2 due to it and 1/2 due to my serially connected 3 IC to pre 2IC from pre to pow. When this is cured, teh rest is pure music, it worths 5k new as a player and system already sounds too well for 2007 (

(The serial cabling is really so effective on my system. Especially the one from pre to power, works equally even on unique 5650 when source is both cd or vinyl. Pre->vandenhul d102III eichman copper + supra eff with original plugs is almost 1/2 of what tae88 individually makes in my system for 1/3 price. cdplayer gains life with another composition for 1/5 efectiveness but there is energy and control loss due to this. A biwire set makes life to my speakers too in 1/3 efectiveness of a tae88. If I remove all these and listen to resting sound, himm, it gets suddenly too hot inside with a cold sweat, thinking the money I spent on all these decks. I believe in 2 things as new in new world, speed and somehow the right cabling. My thoghts only in paranthesis)
