The wattage of 135 is only the power consumption from the wall outlet, not the speaker output power. If it is mono and uses one 6V6, it's good for about 5 watts. If it is mono and uses two 6V6's in push/pull configuration, then it's good for about 10 to 12 watts of speaker output power.

I suppose there are four possibilities:
1) Single 6V6 (i.e. SE monophonic). That would mean there is a Fender Champ in that chassis trying to escape. Nice, if you are an electric guitarist or into mono playback.
2) Pair of 6V6 but one OPT (i.e. PP mono). That would mean there is a Fender Deluxe opportunity. Very nice for mono.
3) Pair of 6V6 and two OPT (i.e. SE stereo). With a little work you could have a single ended stereo amp to drive your Lowthers or Tannoys or other efficient speakers. Essentially equivalent to the SE Magnavox console amps (197). Worth the effort in my opinion and easy/fun/dangerous to work on.
4) Quad 6V6 (most likely PP stereo). Nice amp. Probably would be rated at more than 135W draw though. So not likely to be what you will find.

Go get it pronto, before its gone. Thats a great price for stereo tube amp, no risk involved as you can send it my way if you dont want to mess with fixing it up.

I can't get the amp pic to open, but the diagram makes me think you'll want the preamp too, or you won't have enough gain, as all that's on the amp chassis is one 12AX7 VA / inverter. But yes, well worth 50 bucks I'd say. If you plan on using it with a CDP you could get by with just the amp I imagine.

I could be wrong but I was thinking the same thing it should be fine for anything above mag phono input w/o the preamp as long as you have variable audio in source or put a dual pot or 2 pots in it .

I have the EL84 version (like Pio1980's photo) sitting in a cardboard box awaiting some undetermined fate.

Yes, it is one of those models, which of course were the same thing but with different console design style.
I went and got it. Also got the preamp and tuner for a little more $. He had the drivers too but I did not pull the trigger on those. The tag says Simpson Sears Canada. Heer are more photos. Have not even dusted them off yet and the tubes have the sleeves over them. One of the 6v6 is broken and it had an x on it anyway as if it was not working at some point. All the tubes are branded Silvertone except one of the 6v6GT's is a black RCA Radiotron Electron Tube.
On the tuner the tubes are also Silvertone branded and include one 6AL5, one 6BE6, one 6BA6, and 3 6AU6 tubes.
Have not checked them. When he purchased the console he did not try turning it on so these have not been power up, at least until him.

hm, someone stuck a metal 6V6 in place of the 6V6GT. Not really a problem, but make sure there is not anything connected to pin 1 of that socket. Metal tubes connected the shell to pin 1. It was intended to be a grounded pin for shielding purposes. The GT tubes didn't use that pin for anything, so sometimes it was used as a tie point for high voltage. Not real fun if you find out you have 300 vdc on the outside of the tube by touching it accidentally.
