Hey I am new to this and I currently have a technics sl-qd33r and I was looking to upgrade and I found a sl-1500 for $100 bucks I good condition I was wondering if this is a good value and if it will be much of an upgrade
Someone ended up getting before I got to it. So I was considering getting a at-lp120 do you guys think this would be an upgrade to what I have or could you recommend something better in the $100-$200 range

How patient can you be? Bide your time and you may come across another deal like the 1500 you missed out on.
I can be patient can you give any good idea on some TT to look keep an eye out for that would be good in that price range
What is your Craigslist location? :scratch2:
We can go look just for fun!
One good possibility:
Technics SL-1200 mk2 Turntable - $290 (Raleigh/Knightdale) ? :scratch2:
There is a very well regarded and knowledgeable long time AK member from Durham who has a shop.
He just came back to the turntable forum a few days ago.
He had been busy with house renovation and his shop (audio, turntable).
His user name is "Big Bill".
PM him about your search............:thmbsp:
If you can stretch your budget, that 1200 is worth it. You can get a decent cart for about $60 to start, then look at upgrading that long term. If you can get the table down to $250 (mention no cart, and any other imperfections) and try for that. If it's been used for DJing, you can bring up potential wear to the motor, etc. Just because the ask is too high doesn't mean you can't get it lower.
Yes I tried to talk him down but he was firm on his price and I found out it doesn't come with a dust cover or platter mat.
