Don't forget

Don't forget folks SMAC May is this coming Saturday.

Is anyone bringing any equipment over to Jim's? Heck, is anyone even coming?:scratch2:

Jeff

I'll be there. :thmbsp:

SMAC meets don't get much closer than this for me unless David Dmax decided to host one or Jim Elmslie returns from Iowa.

I'm on call this weekend (sucks to be me) but I am planning on coming. I'll bring my Kegged PAS-3 that way if I have to bolt, I can leave it at the meet until I track it down.

New member here. I'm interested if a number of people are bringing their gear! Soon I'll be building my first pair of speakers and I need some direction...

It's 47mins from my place in Huntington Woods (10 mile & Woodward). Are future events likely to be closer to me?

All future meets are closer to you as most SMAC members are closer to you!

Cool! I might show up anyway, but here's another question: generally what portion of the speakers at these events are DIY? My wallet isn't interested in commercial offerings at the moment :thmbsp:

Don't know the percentage...maybe 20%? There's a lot of DIY speaker builders (or at least tweakers) in the group though. Every speaker can be improved, right?;)

It really varies, there are 12 meets a year and I can think of at least 4 or 5 sets of DIY speakers. Some in kit form, some line arrays just cobbled together to see what would happen, some Art~full bass bins with horns, some to replicate the sound of Sonus Faber's and some that were at AK fest last year that blew me away.
