Some old tubes in this one

If I had a tester I would go and test the tubes as they sell for a pretty penny if they are in good condition.

Someone might do quite well out of that purchase.

It's an amazing old piece with fascinating advertising (he links to it on the CL ad) and a great 'name'.

For that price, and if local, it would already be sitting on my shelf. If for nothing else a conversation piece. Really like the Griffin on the front. :smoke:

That is a beautiful piece. Why is this not in some AKers possession yet? :D

Check out the bakelite parts in it.

How so? I've got a box of UX-201's, brass bases, bakelite, CX-301'S etc etc... NOS in their original boxes, wrapped up with the paperwork they came with explaining how to use them...they aren't worth crap, check eBay! Now some of the rarer brands and variations (colored glass, etc) of the 01 tubes are worth money, but don't think these are worth more than 5 bucks a pop.

the radio as a whole though might be worth $100, its a pretty piece.
