Yes, I'm using a drill press. A cheap Ryobi from Home Depot, but it does the job. One attempt at drilling a 1.25" hole with a stepped bit and a hand drill, and I knew the press would be a worthwhile investment!

Output tube will be 6BQ5, run single-ended.

The blue ones are Edcor power transformers. I don't think they'll stay blue. The output transformers are James Audio, same as in my 2A3 amp. Very nice iron, super quality for the price! very limited distribution in this country, though.

Carl, for $100 you can have a basic drill press sitting on your bench. Well worth it, and handy for other projects, too! :thmbsp:

Thanks, I'm definitely going to look into a drill press. I'm not so worried what my project looks like now, I just want to make sure it works first. Then I'll rework it to make it look presentable.

They are indeed some big caps. :yes:

I could have used much smaller if I had gone with electrolytic caps. No electrolytics in this power supply, though.

There will also be more iron underneath - the power supply has two chokes in it... per amp.

The circuit I'll be using is a Kegger special - he worked it all out and provided the schematic. I came up with the layout and made some minor tweaks as suggested by Kegger.
 
Glad the hole biz worked out Nate! The build is looking very nice, I hope it sounds as good as it looks. I would like to build something again this winter. I've been looking at a single ended 7591 monoblock but haven't found anything spectacular in the way of a schematic yet. Ideas?? anyone.
Still loving last winter's 300B amps about 2 hours an evening.

A 7591 SE schem would be a relatively simple thing an very much the same as the other
SE "pentode" tube amps I've done here, I like how the same basic circuit I use works out. :thmbsp:
(running SE, UL for the pentode with a bit of plate to grid feedback)
