SONY DISC PLAYER

My Sony Mini Disc Player doesn't hold the disc. It goes in and inmedaitly comes out. Is there a simple solution for this or it s a major break down? Thanks!

It's difficult to say with such little info. What's the model number? How quickly is "immediately"? Does it not even attempt to read the disk? Does anything show on the display while this is happening?

Thanks for your response. It's a sony mini disc deck, Model JE 320. A friend partially disassembled it and found a jammed disc. But the eject control did not act. He took the disc out by moving some parts but when placing another disc, it got stuck again, no play either. It doesn't attempt to read the disc. So far we are stuck, no more progress has been made, will assemble it again to see the display reading. Your help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

This page says that the JE320 is similar to the JE510, and this page links the S38 as being similar to the 510, although not in appearance (it's possible the circuitry is similar). At any rate, the service manual on that second page may give some troubleshooting tips, which are probably similar between the different models.

Not sure if this will help in your situation (your original post provided very little info), but this video helped me with one of my Sony Minidisc decks.

more on this:the disc goes in, the display shows reading, then tries to eject and a rattling sound follows, like gears clashing or theet grinding, the display says eject. and it cicles, welcome,reading, eject,non stop until

I pull the plug...IT DOES NOT PLAY,attempts to eject but after some gear grinding, shows reading AGAIN ALL OVER...
