And with new caps installed. Much shorter than the originals but the perfect diameter for the original clamps.

I note in the photo you went with 80v caps, I can't read the capacitance it looks like 6800uF. Have you noticed any ill effects from the higher capacitance? The wiring to the original was a bit of a drag to untangle from the solder lugs. I see you went with spade connector and soldered all of the wires to that rather than to the actual cap to avoid having to solder all of that back on the new ones. What was the spec and brand of caps that you ended up using?
 
Replying to JW, no I did not do anything to improve on the original reliance on the proximity to the heatsink vs firm mechanical pressure.

I did have an issue months later when the unit blew one of the 2 fuses on the transformer primaries.
I had installed new fast blow fuses when slow blow was specified (and needed to avoid popping during in rush currents on power up.)
Replacing with correct slow blow fuses then worked fine.
