Attached are some photos of a Technics SL 2000 and a Sony PS 1700 for sale locally

I am unable to find anything substantive about them-any info would be appreciated

Thanks

SL-2000 sold in 1977. Direct drive. Fully manual. List price $140. Pretty much one of the most inexpensive direct drive tables they ever made. Don't know if it's good or bad, but with an original list of $140, I wouldn't expect Audio Nirvana. That's all I've got.

Thanks for the responses

I think I'll pass on the Technics however that Sony seems pretty nice from the pictures it may be worth checking out.

Now you are going to have to flip a coin. The PS-1700 was also the low end for Sony in 1977. MRSP of, you guessed it, $140. Sony made some excellent TTs during this era. While the PS-1700 obviously will play LPs, the PS-X7/6/5 or BioTracer series were much better TTs. Especially the PS-X7 with its carbon fiber arm. PS-X6 is the same TT, but with an alloy arm-tube rather than carbon fiber.
