Speakers you will NEVER sell.

I haven't run across them yet...although I think if I ever came across a pair of multicell tar-filled Altecs, large Tractrix front horns with Lowthers or a high-end pair of B&W floorstanders I wouldn't sell them.

Thats what I thought when I first read the original post. But thinking about it, I'll probably never sell my Polk 7b's, as they are the first real speakers I owned and as we know are fairly well regarded. The NAD 7020 that I bought at the same time is also on the don't touch list.

I thought I'd never sell the KLH 17's that I refurbed, but I did. The Marantz 2238b that I searched for forever and paid too much for is gone too.

I'm absolutely loving my Bel Canto S300iu and Sequerra Met 7.7s, but at some point they'll be sold off in order to finance the next greatest thing.
 
Here are 2 that I would not part with.

My 1990 KEF 102/2. I have had countless hours of listening pleasure. The way they reproduce classical strings is incredible.

My dads 1960 Vintage Jensons TR-10. Still work beautiful after all these years with the metal and cloth surrounds that seem like they will last forever.
 
i will never sell my coral BX300's
have them hooked up to my fisher 400
for certain types of music like classical, jazz and talk
 
A friend recently told me he has labeled each piece of his gear with the name of the friend that his wife is to call for dispersal of the gear if he dies. I call that real commitment. I hope he drives carefully. He's a nice guy, and plus I'd have to find a taker for his Klipschorns!
 
Will not sell The Polk RT55i's, RSL Elans, and maybe one of the two pairs of JBL L100's.

I bought the Polks new. Real cherry wood. Look and sound great to me.

RSL's beat out the L100's in my book.

Who needs two pair of L100's? (Me, for now)

I like a pair of Wilson Watt Puppies also.

I told my girlfriend when I die put me in the box my speakers came in. Save money on a coffin. The Watt Puppies shipping crate should fit me. hahahaha....
 
Saying you will never say never tends to wind up biting you in the ass at some point. But, I have no intention of doing anything with my Yamaha NS 1000M's other than listening to them for years to come.
 
Keepers -- Allison CD6s and CD8s. They sound better than any other speakers I've heard in a similar package.

Want to find -- Royds! Yeah, the pair I've heard makes me want to own a pair! Also, a pair of Allison CD7s to round out the Allison collection.

I find swapping speakers in and out of my system, refurbing and repairing them, is easier and less expensive than repairing or replacing an amp, receiver, tuner, etc so I am more inclined to keep an open mind about trying different speakers.
 
I'll never sell my speakers, because I built every single one I ever owned.....and they usually look kinda ugly.....nobody wants to buy them......(boo hoo)
 
I remember lusting after Altec Valencia's 30 years ago, and would never (at the time) have thought I could afford speakers that great! Well, I now have Altec 14's as my living / TV room main speakers, and Altec 19's in another room. Since I am also vintage, these particular speakers just seem to be keepers! I don't think I need anything else, except, maybe a nice pair of JBL L300's! I like their looks almost as much as the sound!
