Spring Twang

I had fun today giant thanks to our wonderful hosts Jay and Suzy. I hated to leave early but I wanted to time out the showers and it was perfect, it had quit raining in Bonner I got all my stuff carried in and was cleaning up when it started raining again. Great Time as always.:banana:

Great to see some new faces. Some gear got new homes, mine included. Tox and I got to test our brains ( series inductors are additive, right?)
A big thanks for the food and hospitality.

Heck of a good time and thanks for the hospitality(and the coffee Nick!) Got home and there was a tornado earlier in the south part of Lyon county that derailed 40 cars and did fairly? minor damage. That was 15 miles or so South of here(Americus),so just heavy rain now for the most part. Hope to see that pic soon of Leroy sitting on the coach"listening to the music!" edit...ghost pepper cheese was excellent!

Hey
Thank you Jay and Susie. I had a good time ( the parts I remember ).
Nice seeing everyone. And look forward to seeing you all in the future . Eric

Thanks Jay and Suzy for hosting — and for persevering and figuring out the WIFI password so we could play tunes in the kitchen as well. :-)

I had fun and it was great to meet everyone. Thanks to everyone who helped with the food and beverages etc ...

Hope to do it again!!

It was a fantastic time! Thanks and more thanks to Jay and Suzy. What wonderful and tolerant hosts they are. Now to hook my "new" Yamaha amp up to the Vandies....

Oh man that pic of the dog is killer! Hahahaha.

I had a great time, thanks everyone for all the great food, drinks, extra hands, great speakers and amps to listen to, and especially to our hosts.

Jay - sorry we couldn't hang around longer this morning, it woulda been nice to shoot the bull and watch the beekeeper do his thing. First Twangfest attended by a swarm of bees!

Russell, I love that Class A amp, I never heard my Klipsches sound that good.

Who ran off with Tox's Brandy? Was he wearing a chicken suit?

The bees are now in a bee box that a keeper nailed to the tree and put something in. The wife has some pics I'll try to post, that was a bunch of damn bees. That Leroy is a crack up, I guess he sits that way because I do and he jumps up and sits by me. The night before, we watched the sled dog show 8 below and he sat there through the whole movie. His eyes about popped out of his head when the Leopard Seal came out of the killer whale carcass, he was really watching.:D

Twangfest is more than just beer and BBQ. I always feel a burst of energy and inspiration after hanging out with you fine AKers, listening to and talking about music and gear. I came home with some nice woofers for the VOTTs that I can't wait to install (thanks Batt), and I'm working on ordering the Crites diaphragms for the Kg 4.2's. Music seems more fun too after Twangfest. I was cranking the Talking Heads on the way to work this morning. I probably looked like a nut playing air drums flying down the highway at 75 mph. LOOK OUT, TOX IS BEHIND THE WHEEL! :thmbsp:

Ah, that would be me. I must have picked it up with the bottles of scotch. I'll figure out some way to get it back to you.

No worries, I bet it was trying to hide in a crowd of far superior liquor. :D

Cool, I'd love to see the bee box pics. They start hive boxes with a flat sheet of beeswax cast into the honeycomb hexagon to make it easy for the bees to start. I bet there's a sheet of that in there and maybe some honey spritzed around to attract them. I take it the plan is they'll move right in and then he comes and gets the box after dark when they're all inside.

Oh, and I discovered after owning the Kg4.2's for 24 years that the plastic feet pop off and they have doggone SPIKES built in! Who knew? Manual? What manual?

I am not a smart man.

Ticks and Tick Diseases of MO

I forget who all was in the room while I was spouting about tick diseases, and a couple people wanted to see this fact sheet, so here it is. [Note: Jay, I know Suzie was interested so please forward!] I did this mostly for internal use by our field staff so they could identify ticks and symptoms if they get sick after a tick bite. It's not an official publication and I'm not a doctor (at least not that kind). I just could not find all this info in a brief form in one place so I pulled it together myself. There is far more benefit than risk to sharing it so please feel free to do so. EDIT: FYI, there are other diseases and probably other ticks that do not occur in this part of the country, so be aware of that. There are at least two diseases in New England that aren't here, and a new bacteria in China has been making hundreds of people sick.
