I wanted to pull the trigger on that lot so bad...wife even told me to do it. Thanks for jumping on the grenade for me :)

Flip the top two over to get the horns and tweeters close together. I used Split La Scalas many times when it was just me and a helper and I did want to deal with Big Altec or JBL stuff. 4 tops in two pairs with 2 pair of woofer stacked either side by side or on top of each other for needed height, with the horns stacked on top with the top horn inverted connect them to QSC 250/watt per channel amp and we were ready. If the PA required bass, it was drag out the Altec stuff. two pairs of 817's stacked in free space easily reached 40 Hz flat with out equalization where the poor La Scala had long given up the ghost by 60 hz. But throw the La Scalas up against a wall or in a corner and that will definitely help.
