Starting a build

battradio

Electron trainer
Hi ,

I'm starting a build for Ak member hhibrownsbac . I did the concept and metal punching , he did the very fine wood working .

The amp will use a pair of 5881 output tubes , one 6SL7 driver tube and one 5U4GB rectifier .

The ouput transformers are Acrosound TO-300 ,the choke are UTC 10 Henry 200 ma and the power transformer is a Stancor PC-8412

"Orgasonic" amplifiers? That sounds sort of...well....
Anyway, beautiful layout and bases. Did you punch or unibit the socket holes?

Great work so far! That's some nice iron you've rounded up, too. I'm looking forward to watching this.

Interesting IEC input/ fuse assembly/ power switch thingy there... what is it?

VERY VERT nice work there guys. I'd never think they were home brew if I saw them complete for the first time.

Now this is a thread I think I might want to pay attention to, well just maybe that is, hehehe:thmbsp:. Mark you sort of caught me off guard with this one:banana:. Its startin to come together nicely:yes:.

I agree on all accounts. :thmbsp:

Where can we find those, Mark?

Haah, thats the schematic I drew up from my Baldwin Org-O-sonic amplifier. Let me know how it sounds, I haven't finished wiring it up yet.

They are a Corcom Fused Power Entry Module 6VM1S, I believe made by tyco if I remember correctly.

What you totally should have done is bought an old stop sign, sliced it in half, and used it for the chassis.

Maybe for a larger amp , i did go out and measure one up the street :nono: and found out they are too big and that removed the temptaton .

Whent out and bought some angle Aluminum stock to make braces to support the transformers , then will mount the tube sockets filter caps and go to town wiring it .

You schematic is easer to read than the 45pb so hope you don't mind that i linked to it .
