Stoner Rock playlist

Oh no man, I hope I didn't come off as harsh. No apologies necessary.

It is not a well known genre and I wouldn't expect most people to know what it's all about. My post was intended to be educational to anyone who may not know what it's all about.

Oh, absolutely, your intent is obvious. Thank you for bringing it forward.

If you're referring to the Buffalo album Volcanic Rock, we were trading EX played examples for ~ $300 a decade ago.

If you're referring to Leaf Hound ... well, similar condition copies of the Leaf Hound album Growers Of Mushrooms were going for $4,000 (or more) a decade ago ... sheesh, can't guess where that one's priced in 2022, but maybe a lot more than $5,000 ...? And if perchance you stumble onto SIS ... oy ... get ready to trade one of yer motorcycles.
I was referring to Buffalo but I need both hahaha! If you ever get to your collection, pull those two out and let me know what I owe you
I’ll also take the library record KPM1000 Afro Rock while you’re there :rflmao:

I have at least the first four Buffalo LPs and LH's S/T and Growers... You've reminded me again about that KPM1000 album: did I ever determine if I have that one or are "we" (still) waiting for me to check on that?

PS: Now I wanna listen to Growers Of Mushrooms ... I do have a (vinyl) rip of it, but heck dialing it up @ YT and shootin' it to my BT speaker'd be a lot handier.

Lest anyone's tempted (fooled?) by the cover art, this one is not Stoner and not (even) Psych:

(it's kinda lame Rock Blues, if that)

^^ PS: But it was ritually listed as HEAVY PSYCH / PSYCH MONSTER back in the day, lol. Maybe still?

(we weren't yet using the term STONER, or it would have been labeled that FOR SURE)

Here we go ... this claims to be an HQ copy of the LP. I'll have a listen to it.

This is better than I remembered.Vocalist way better than I'd remembered ... reminds me of a cross between Paul Rodgers (Free & Bad Co.) and Terry Wilson-Slesser (Back Street Crawler).

Leaf Hound abounded with interesting connections in that British Family Tree of Rock: former members Paul Kossoff and Simon Kirke formed Free; former guitarist Rod Price left to form Foghat, so there's the connection not only to Free & Foghat, but also legendary outfit Black Cat Bones.

This album has been on heavy rotation with me for a really long time. I was just listening to it again yesterday.

Great album, but again I think of this stuff as psychedelic hard rock, where as stoner to me started in the late 80's early 90's, and has really taken off in the last 15 years.

I want to make apologies for my constant YT links. They are so handy! (and I'm lazy - go figure). If I owned vinyl slabs of Leaf Hound, Kyuss, or any of the stoner bands I dig, I'd definitely be showing them.

My first "stoner" album was "Rotary Connection" (ST) from 1966. It featured Minnie Riperton and is probably considered "progressive rock".
