An "unsaid rule" is what? An invisible rule? Where would one go about reading this "invisible rule"? You can't hold a member accountable for something that is "unsaid". I also don't remember him shitting anywhere or trying to "****" anyone here. I'm sure you are referring to him selling his $60.00 thrift store find for $500.00. Well, wether he sold it for $61.00 or $601.00 is totally his business and I don't feel "****ed" that he never offered it to me. I have plenty of thrift stores around here to do my shopping.

I don't ever recall an incident when I criticized this forum or the rules. Unless you are referring to the popular "unsaid rule", well then I guess you may be right because nobody said to me what it was.

Although by shitting on him because he didn't offer it here first and then banning him PERMANENTLY you proved that AK IS like many other boards. Did his actions require a permanent ban? If it did then I am real scared.

Well since AK does not require a membership I think that makes it a public place - albeit monitored by individuals. But it is "our" house - yours, mine, and any other contributing member. I would never kick someone out of my house because he made a profit on his equipment, and I would not be jealous that he never offered it to me at a discount. Although there is a door for anyone to leave, it seems some members don't have that choice as they are immedietly thrown out.

Grumpy, I know that you will probably give me a permanent ban for speaking my opinion here - heck, you've done it before. But my opinion is as it stands - we showed this guy some bad karma, then kicked him out of our house, and for what? Was it really ban worthy? Will you ban me? Will it be worth it? Will you ban everyone who follows a different drum than yours? Will we turn "our" house into "your" house? Last I checked this was a discussion board were members could come here and ask for help of any kind without fear of a communistic hammer falling on them. I'm not sticking up for PJ (as I feel he did nothing wrong), but for what I thought this forum was all about - freinds asking freinds for help and discussing audio.

If you feel I should be banned for this, well then I'm waiting.

The bar I was figuratively speaking of once again was Honor. I'm gonna go out on a limb here once again and guess its something you don't know anything about.

Last I checked every single member had to fill out the membership page before joining AK.

Well since you have called into question my motives and morality.....


Some years ago I under took part ownership in AK. Did I do it for profit ? Certainly ****ing not. AK has never done anything but drain Tim, Luther an my bank accounts.

Along with 20 something other mods and admins I put in 16 plus hour days for the last 3 plus years to ensure AK is what it is. And ya know what ? I am damn proud of everyone single person who is helped to make AK what it is. A lot of these people are like family to me.

AK fest nearly causes my wife and I to divorce every year. My family works their ass off for weeks on end to ensure that each and every member who attends is greeted with a smile and has a great time.

Why do the others and I do this ? Because we love this site. It has taught us so much and has given us many very good friends.

When Kamakiri brought us over here from AU we were extremely grateful. We had no other place go other then the volatile sites where vintage lovers were frowned upon. Kam Told all of us that this is our house. and to Treat that way !

Some people don't give a **** about their own house so how can we expect them to care about ours or AK.

Again AK is a privilege and not a right as you seem to think. PJ was here for one reason and one reason only to make a profit off this site. You seem to feel its everyone god given right to this privilege. Well I'm here to tell you it ain't !!
 
OK, now I get it. You see, I didn't know that this was your site. I thought you were just a mod. I did not know that it was your money, time, and effort. Well, you're right. This place does seem to be your house. You said you only tell people you like to stick around - and you've stuck to your word. Obviously you don't care about who stays or who goes, so long as they abide by your rules of "honor". I have honor, and I'll go out on a limb to say that I have more honor than you because I have never shown a guest out the door of my house. Many guests have walked thru my doors and bragged many a irritating story about their profits and losses. I never took it personal but I still offered them drinks and smiled at their tales - after all it was no sweat off my back. But then that was my house and they were my guests. This is your house and we are your guests. It seems you can kick us out anytime. From the start you obvioulsly had something against me. Do you want me to leave your house too?
 
As this is getting brutal-my two cents. PJ started his thread asking for advice giving the impression that he was building an enviable system. As such, the advice should be accepted in the manner it is given-free,BUT, and this is a big "but" as he kept the thread going to pump info for a sale it was no longer asking for advice but became a masked consultation. Ever try to consult wih a plumber or a doctor for free? The doctor may cut your nuts off and the plumber will see they roll downhill:yes:. I read AK for weeks before I joined so that I could do searches and I am always careful to search before I ask. I also learned the importance of a dash(-) in my searches. I search for info and enlightenment, not for profit. That's what "epay search" and "google" are for and done on my time not yours. I enjoy the pieces I have picked up even if it means musical receivers, speakers, etc.. Somewhere down the line I may sell some things to go after a "holy grail." But, I know I am not lacking in any way. Maximizing profit is part of business but don't do it by stomping on toes or spitting in the hand that reaches out to shake yours. Very few people will allow that more than once. Back to read how systems and projects are coming along-TTFN.

I get it! Is there a prize for getting it? I want maybe a nice watch, or a gift certificate to a spa or to get my nails done, or a years supply of Grand Marnier Margaritas, or a gross of bottle rockets, or 6 months free cable tv/internet service, a new whoopee cushion would be great, 100 gallons of gas, a parakeet.
 
Thats right Grumpy PJ & JN think AK is nothing more then a free info board to do what they please with. They even bunked the idea of donating to this site. We had this type in the USMC we called them **** birds.Something AK does not need.

Jimmy, you are indeed fortunate, if you have never had to ask a guest to leave your house (the brick and mortar one). Visitors to my house usually know how to behave. The few that don't, learn quickly, or leave. The two that neither learned, nor left, got assistance in leaving. You see, I won't tolerate certain types of misbehaviour in MY house. No smiles, no drinks, no hospitality of any kind, just out. Thankfully, those I call 'friend' understand and share my values. Rarely, someone arrives at my door, and misbehaves, much to the embarassment of the person with whom they came. Twice in almost 30 years of marriage, not bad odds.

The community that is AK... Wait a minute. TA, didn't we have this discussion in the not-too-distant past, with someone else who missed the point?

Since reading the turn this thread has taking has giving me a deep stomache ache about a lot of people here. I just cannot see why every one is shunting the guy.

Pjones, I guess you know by now how volitile some people can get - even when it's not their stuff that you are dealing with. And by the responses and lack of freindship that you've been shown around here I would'nt hold it against you if you were to leave and never look back. I really have to say that there are many, many members here that are truely nice people and support your hobby, but there are also many who have 2 faces. If you stick around I'm sure you'll see this is a great place with many freinds to make - just consider it.

Yes I have every month for the past 3 years. I have also given away more parts to fellow AKers then I can count. Thats is called being a TEAM player.
And what the hell do you think AudioKarma site sponsor means what do you think anybody can put that in there sig.
