Get Set Go

Ok, if you are going to break out the photos of the kids.... My Get*Set*Go with 6B4G tubes. The project is at -

The guys on the forum are truly great! My amp cost $480 in parts. You can also easily change to 300B by changing sockets and 2 resistors. She sounds truly fine. Volume pot is disconected and I run modded PAS2 as a preamp. Peace. Robert

Hey Robert, I have a quad of those CEI 6B4Gs myself. Have you compared them to others?:scratch2: I've been thinking about a 6B4G pp amp.

The model... the one in system 3 in my sig. I like it fine - I guess I've never gotten too fired up about a CDP. I bought it from a guy complaining of door closing issues. A quick re-belt and lube and it was fine.

And...You are not hearing it at it's best yet, Wait till you hear it with the Old Stock 7189 output tubes....:drool:
Pssst..I know a secret...if you want true High Fidelity, getcha an amp built by Jay or Nate...:thmbsp: or do what Ken and I did get one of each.

Hello Jaymanaa! No I have not. I bought mine from Jim McShane a while back. I have 4 working and connected systems in my very modest house and still spend the bulk of my time listening to my SET with the 6B4G's! The build was totally fun. I used Transcendar OPT's instead of the James transormers that a lot of other builders used on this project. Peace. Robert

I wondered when you were going to chime in on this. I don't know if I am looking forward to hearing it at its best or not. :D My heart may not take it. :scratch2:

I may start working on Nate, but don't tell him!!
 
The circuit ain't mine.:no: As a matter of fact, I wish I had a schematic. It was published in some audio magazine about 15 years ago (glass audio or vta maybe). It uses 4 12AT7s up front (2 long tail pairs) and has seperate bias pots for each output tube. Two of the 12AT7s also have pots but I don't have a clue what for (I just never turn them).:D
