STV Lead-Securing Glue

I like the idea of putting a dab of glue on the STV body leads to prevent accidental breaking. First question, is this even wise? Second question, what is the best glue? Superglue, silicone?

It's wise if you want to prevent the fragile leads from breaking, on a obsolete component, if you are servicing a unit and messing with those stv diodes. It's called, Preventive maintenance.
I use contact cement.
 
Correct. ConAp Easy-Poxy K230 cures out to a completely inert, non-conductive state that will still have thermal properties similar to porcelain. It is not as easy to source as it once was.

Unfortunately, consumer-grade epoxies typically have specifications shrouded in mystery, and getting any meaningful data is almost as difficult as getting actual GOOD epoxy.
 
Might be a non issue. The adhesive probably would not be in contact with the leads because they have insulating sleeves over them that makes contact with the plastic body.

Are you referring to the light-colored (white) insulating sheaths? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you should not be getting glue on those. The glue should contact only the STV body and metal leads that extend from it.

I don't think gluing the sheaths to the stv body would be as effective as gluing the metal leads at the base of the body.
