Summer New England FrankenFest GTG - Clinton, MA Saturday June 27th

Late to the party but thank you once again for a great time. My life has gotten busy and these are wonderful breaks from the chaos.

I want to make a special note here to thank my very good friend Don for all he's done for the local AK fests, and for all he's done for me. If you don't know Don well, I implore you to make an effort to do so- by far one of the most thoughtful, grounded and kind humans I've ever had the good fortune to meet.

Now that's what I call an Audio Community Diversity Photo.. Two Black dudes at the same event in the same room at the same time. ( Settle down now... that's only a racist comment if you're not one of the two black dudes commenting on it :) funny how that works.)

This wouldn't fly at any event of any kind in most major urban cities and towns based on the colors that he an I have on. We'd be in opposing gangs ( Blue=Crips , Red=Bloods) and mortal enemies just based on our choice of fashion for the day. Truly the dumbest sh*t ever, next to the Hatfields vs. McCoys. But I digress..

Can't wait until October 24th to Roll Around. It's just a couple of days After My Birthday and what better way to spend it than with a bunch of Gear Junkies like myself.

If I show up to the next one with a Bob Latino amp, would that help round out the ethnic spectrum a little?

And Paul, your inbox is full too. Sorry I have been so absent for so long, but will put up a reminder for October

October will be here before we know it. Like the song says, every year is getting shorter...

October 24th is the day of the ALS walk. I will not attend the Frankenfest, but might have gear to be pony expressed there if there is interest.

What if we all did the ALS walk and then had an AK tailgate swap meet at the end?

Or all do the ALS walk on Oct. 24 and have the Fall Frankenfest another day. Like on Halloween! The First Freakin' Fall FrankulaFest. :yikes:

If I can conquer this blasted fasciitis, I'm in. Do we start a "team" or walk individually?

Like the idea of the two Saturdays...

There's a team already set up. Jillian is Don's oldest daughter.

I think it would be really tough to try to do the ALS Walk and the Fall Frankenfest on the same day. The Walk is at Carson Beach in Dorchester (part of Boston). I'd guess that we'd need to go somewhere else to meet as an AK group. (Salt water and nice audio equipment do not play well together.) That would be difficult to do in one day, particularly for people who have some travel distance to get to Boston or to Clinton.

I'd also suggest ditching the 31st as the reschedule date. Between Halloween parties and trick or treating with the kids. it may cause some absenteeism for several people. maybe the week prior , the 17th?

I'm with Jamal here. If we did AK enabling on the 17th and then the walk the week after, that would make sense and not interfere with ghoulish fun.

And I'm down with that plan as well.

I saw Don today and told him that some of his AK friends were planning to walk with Don and his team in the ALS Walk on Oct.24th. He was very pleased to hear that. He said he'd attend an AK Clinton event on Oct. 17th if that comes to pass. I hope it does. --Dan

I'll get with Frank and see if he's amenable to changing the event to the 17th - I suspect that wouldn't be a problem.
