SX-1250 soft start relay

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a proper way of removing the center wires of the soft start relay ? They have these wraps around them, not sure if they are to be removed or if there is a clip underneath.

There is no clip, they are wired to relay tabs, which are a flat blade terminal with a hole in it..

The wrap is to protect against short circuits.


Are you replacing the relay? If so you don't have to be careful with the tab, just preserve the wires.
Cut the tab off the relay then trim as much tab as possible away from the wires.
THEN do a quick desolder and trim the tab some more rather than trying to get the wire out of the hole.
heatsink the wires before the insulation to preserve the insulation.

I think I understand... cut the tab and that will expose the wires and make it easier to pry them out of the holes since these are going to be open by cutting them if that makes sense. Then introduce the wires into the new relay with new shrink tubing.
