I have one, and I like it quite a bit. It has a nice phono section and pre-out/main-in jacks. Sounds pretty good, really nice tuner section.

One thing to use caution on is that this era Pioneer used those odd speaker plug in jacks; one horizontal and one vertical blade to hook the speaker wires to the back of the receiver. Never figured out quite why they thought that was a good idea. But in any case, if they've gone missing, it can be a chore to replace them. I have two sets of two, but the unit has three pairs of speaker outs.

Can they be converted to regular terminals? I am sure some enterprising DIYer has to have a mod...

I unfortunately have no more room atm for any "new" stuff. But I saw this for what seems like peanuts and I have heard about refurbs costing a pittance (300 bucks) for the value.

If I didn't have a decent phono pre this would be on the list! I bet the FM tuner is decent as well.

Simple solution is to put 1/4" spade connectors on your speaker wires. I think the horiz one needs a little dress with file and maybe spoon 'em a bit with your needle nose. Some guys use and ac plug - like an extension cord. Hack off the female end, twist one of the prongs vert and do some grinding. Long extension cords are cheap at a discount store.
