Can I run 4 ohm speakers on a SX-727?

YOu seem to be fairly new with only 10 posts, Welcome to AK!

only one pair of 4 ohm at a time. turning on more than one pair of four ohm speakers (A+B) means they will be connected in parallel, cutting the impedance in half. The receiver would see the load as 2 ohms, and you'd probably toast your outputs at any kind of volume.

one pair of 4 ohm is fine, or two pair of 8 ohm speakers. YOu get the idea. The 727 is a fine receiver.
