Technics pronounciation

Another dumb question; I have always pronounced the word "Technics" as:
Tek-nicks (nicks rhyming with picks); but I have heard several people pronounce it as: Tek-neeks (neeks rhyming with weeks). What is the accepted or common pronunciation within the audio community?

Looks like it is unanimous for "neeks." I have been pronouncing it wrong for years. Thanks everybody. I appreciate the quick responses.
 
Well, if it's "neeks," our entire company pronounced it wrong for a decade and a half. I realize the temptation to imply the word, "technique," is strong, but I don't believe that's correct. I always say, "TECH-niks." (Hey, huked on fonix allwaes werked for me!)

Huh... I guess I've been pronouncing it wrong (Tech-niks).

I'd feel more certain if I saw it in a manual or on the packaging (like BIC -- Please say "Bee-Eye-Cee")

If they didn't tell anyone how to pronounce it, it's their own darn fault if people don't get it right. :)
