Technics SL-D2 Tonearm wiring.

Simple question. Is it possible to change the tonearm wiring without removing the entire assembly?

It is possible depending upon your specific tonearm design. It might be possible on straight arm designs which allow clear access both ends. But the Technics isn’t straight so would be difficult to accomplish attached to the TT.

I was able to do my sl1500 without removing the tonearm but I have no idea on the SL-D2

They're basically the same tonearm, don't see why you couldn't if you were able to complete the SL-1500.

I soldered the new litz to the old wire and used it basically as a fish tape. Just make sure its soldered good cause if it breaks..

Voice of music has the thinnest tonearm wires i have come across. They are plenty long. Many of the eBay and Amazon sellers provide thicker gauge wires that arent flexible enough for the sensitive Technics gimbal and can introduce random skipping.

I did it 10 years or so ago but im pretty sure I used KAB superflex.
