To anyone who has/had a Technics SL-D2 TT, is there a way to lower and raise the tonearm cuing rest? My arm does not raise high enough off the record. It clears but I'd like more clearance. Thanks.

You can get the OM off vinylengine, I believe.

Flip the cuing lever to the up position. Press down on the "cuing rest" with your fingers. This will expose the head of a black screw. Turn the screw a few turns counter-clockwise, to allow the rest to rise a little higher. Release the rest and test. A little trial and error will get it exactly where you want it.

Hardening lubricants are becoming a problem on these late 70's-early 80's Technics too, usually in the cuing and anti-skating mechanisms.
