technics SL-QX200 QX300?

What is the difference in the Technics SL-QX200 and the S-QX300? The Vintagetechnics web sight show that they are the same.

The data in the table is wrong. The 200 is semi-automatic and the 300 is full automatic.

I have also seen photos of these with standard tonearms rather than the P-mount type. I have 3 of the P-mount QX300 models and they are extremely nice performers. Suspended chassis, aluminum plinth, and fully adjustable tracking force and antiskate control. The rumble rating is better than most of the Technics direct drives at -80dB. A Shure M97LT really makes these come alive.

Yes, but alas it is long discontinued. And the T4p compliant cartridge selection is getting dire. The Japanese market models of these turntables have 1/2" mount and regular headshells, which I'd recommend if you can find one.

They also came in both p-mount and s-arm versions (depending on the nation for which they were destined), had similar rumble specs, and fully adjustable tracking force and antiskate on the p-mount versions. The difference would be that the SL-M models had a plinth of rosewood vinyl over MDF, and the two I have (SL-MA1 and SL-M3) are not suspended.

I've got a SLQX300 that I bought new while in the military in Europe. Has the
p-type mount. Reliable unit. But after all these years, the grease on the cue arm actuating rod dried out and kept the cue from fully retracting. Disassembled the plinth and worked the rod up and down while introducing light oil. All is well again.

EDIT: Cueing mechanism requires the correct damping grease, not machine oil.

I have a predecessor to the SL-QX 300 with the SL-Q303..... also aluminium plinth, with TNRC suspended sub-chassis, and 'S' arm. Lovely sounding turntable
I'd like to get a hold of one of these SL-QX series.

Drive system and arms probably. Visually, however, they're pretty different.
