Technics Su-V6

Anybody got anything on this amp? I know it's an integrated, 70w per but I was hoping to get a few opinions in build quality and sound. I have a shot at picking one up but not sure if it's worth my time (and $$) or not.

had a SU-V5 recently, slightly less powerful.. didn't really like it.... nice blue illuminated logo and power meters but not a patch on my NAD 3020 in sound... sold mine after several attempts on eBay UK for about £30.00 GBP if i remember... not a very valuable amp...this vintage technics site is good for older technics info...

Ist not to bad ...if you change the cap in the RC filter at the power-amp input.

should be 1nF ...not! 39pF

Well, i'm sitting on the fence on this one. If I can get it for a good price I might go for it. He's also got a pair of Paradigm Phantoms that I might scoop instead. I'm going over on Friday.

I have an SU-V4 (appears to be the same amp at 55wpc vs 70wpc) and I really like it. Have used it to drive a pair of Klipsch Heresy and sounds very good. Seems to be solid and it weighs in at 18.7 pounds. Used it for a while to run the fronts on the HT instead of the Onkyo TX-SV717PRO (Onkyo's TOTL -I think- in it's day). Definite improvement in both surround and 2-channel when hooked to the HT.

Runs hot - should have a BTU rating - I guess related to the straight DC operation. Probably want to have plenty of room for it to breath if in a cabinet/entertainment center.
