The Great Weight Loss Challenge -09

Some very impressive weight loss numbers put up by you guys! Me, I just hit the -10lbs mark this am, was 265 Jan 1 and now 255. At least it is going in the right direction. Near term goal is to lose another ten lbs.

I had my weight watchers weigh in this morning. I am down 4.5 pounds in 3 weeks. (It is much slower on us females than you males!) The good news - I've worked out 4 times in the last week. I will continue to work out 4 times per week to help my weight to continue to drop.

It's gonna be a l-o-n-g summer......

Just checkin in again! I am stuck here at about 240. The other day I was able to Deadlift 360 and Squat 265 so there is still progress!

I'm holding at around 165, and still showing 5% body fat. At this point, I'm trying to gain about 5 lbs, but keep the fat index at or below 5%. I haven't made any progress one way or the other for about a month, but at least no regress :) . The good news is that my pants size is now 31" waist, down from 34 last summer, and an all-time max of 36 about 2 years ago. My 42nd birthday was last week, so I'm really grateful to be able to be in this shape at all. I had a bad back problem during 2004-05 (sciatica), and it cause me to quit working out for about 18 months. Thankfully, it hasn't bothered me since then too much, and I've been able to get back into working out, and dirt bikes for the past 3 years.

Below are 2 photos... First is me at my worst out-of-shape state; 2005 at age 38. That one was taken at a Toyota/Ivan Stewart offroad and special interest vehicle show. And a photo taken this Monday, age 42.

I'm still doing Weight Watchers and working out. I've lost about 6-7 pounds in 7 weeks. My brother lost 13.5 pounds in one week. I think I will send him some brownies in the mail. :D

Just weighed this AM-309. My surgery was 8 weeks ago ystrday. Almost 80 lbs in 8 weeks-that ain't bad. Cheated a bit last nite-Had a few pieces of a Domino's thin cheese pizza. Paid for it, too-Ate too much too quick, & the "sickness" kicked in. Didn't upchuck or anything else, just felt lousy most of last evening. Didn't dare try a pizza w/pepperoni, sausage, bacon or anything like that though-I'm not THAT stupid.

Official weigh in this morning - I am down 6 pounds. It is a slow process. I am increasing the weights I use at the gym - it feels good!

Don't worry Sandy I wont tell! :)

75Center; Awesome work! It is the slow pounds that stay off. Keep it up and you will be olympic lifting in no time! ;)

Great job VinylDavid! I know how hard this is....

mwr885 - thanks for the encouragement. Haven't been to the gym as much as I would like this week - work has been very busy. Hopefully this week I"ll get back to it.

The food portions in Texas are ENORMOUS. My in-laws are causing me problems... They're great on hospitality, and they live here in Dallas, where my wife and I have been for the past couple weeks... Steak, potatoes, and Texas-sized dessert every night! I set up a workout room here with some basics, and there's a great place here in the housing development to run/walk, but it's going to be tough to keep up. Going back to Los Angeles next week, so I'll fix any damage when I get there. I'll have to get a more complete routine going here, as we're going to be spending more time in Dallas.

Still holding around 208-210 just can`t seem to continue to lose that last little bit . I won`t give up though it`s a long slow process for those few final pounds and eating Suzie`s great cooking it`s Hard! Still not bad for 55 and almost a year out of Radiation treatments. Must resist second helpings must resist!

This morning's scale shows a loss of 40 at 192. On 9/1/08 I was 232. I'll go for another 5 or so.

I've sure found that the type of food I eat is about as important as how much. I have pretty much stayed with beef or chicken and all of the raw veggies I can handle.

Went to my GP doc ystrday...Officially, I was 305, down some 82 lbs...I've lost a 10-yr-old kid... My BP was-I forget the actual #s, but - the Doc & Lauriann both said it was good for a NORMAL person, not just for lardbutt me...The Doc was VERY pleased w/my progress....

So, Darcy, how are we coming on our efforts to get back into those Size "0" jeans, & drive all the boys-an' the Hubby-MAD ?!? Baby makes her Blue Jeans talk....(grin)

Sandy - sorry I can't PM you with my progress. It's still slow but steady weight loss. Down another 1/2 pound this week. Sorry I can't brag on huge 20# losses in one week like you men do!

Happy Easter!
