The Not So Official Piss, Moan and Bitch Thread.

Getting older. Ugh..... I keep developing more and more problems faster than I can get them attended to by various doctors. Giant floater just appeared in my left eye a week ago (vitreous detachment evidently) , left shoulder pain/ locking up, future left knee replacement, sinus problems/plugged up left ear ( that shows fine on CT scan of head and doctor looking in my ear), balance problems/possible hydrocephalus, back problems, reduced kidney function ......... urgh. It's like someone flipped a switch when I hit 70. No fun.

Prepping, balloons, train de-rails, suicide, and the soon-to-be delusion threads-

All predictably had/will circle(d) the toilet bowl.
 "I just have some questions and will run my mouth without evidence"

Is it the moon, meds, ... ? :dunno:

The moon, who knows, maybe, but the meds, I thought the meds were to make it all go away. They sell enough of them.

Oh do I get it. I was feeling pretty good when I retired at 62 but somewhere around 67 the switch flipped for me. I have hip issue along with most of your issue my worst is Microscopic Colitis. Your sinus comments are my sinus issue. Getting OLD is not for the weak!

Got the new income tax form for this year.

Really easy to fill out.

On the last page it reads (after the bold line):

Q

I have Edge for browser and have an annoying problem with Yahoo.
Yahoo always come up in Spanish, then I have to hunt for the English translation. I click the button to go English and don't ask again. Next time in would be Spanish again. It does not go away even if I delete the old bookmark, search for and bookmark the English version.

Anybody know how I can fix this?

I hate it when someone posts without punctuation or capitalization it is hard to tell where one sentence ends and another begins and when i read it it sounds in my head like hes talking a mile a minute until my head wants to explode!

Whenever I see a post like that, I just stop reading. It is not worth my time if they didn't take the time to type it correctly.

The other beef I have is speech to text. Sometimes it is obvious that someone used it and did not proof read it. Can't think of an example, but I know you've seen it too.

I'll consider myself lucky with only a dimmer switch involved, presently. Should I hope it operates like LED lights with some dimmers: it never completely goes off?

I had a choice of a Mac or a Windows laptop when I started my current job several years ago. Didn't know anything about Apple products, although I was tempted because while I know how to manage MS operating systems, I really don't like their user level OS found on laptops and workstations...at all.

I found that MS had created a service called WSL - Windows Subsystem for Linux. You're able to run a virtual instance of a few different distros of Linux on your Win system. I don't know if a desktop is available on the Linux systems, probably is, but I work on the bash terminal that's the default interface when they come up. Works well enough.

The issue I have is when patches are downloaded for updates. I'd see the WSL lock up every so often, but lately it's been on every weekly patch cycle. I used to be able to kill the process as I do have local admin privileges, but now even that doesn't work. CPU maxes out and the fan runs and runs and runs. A reboot is required.

I have to log into numerous systems and authenticate on plenty of others. Takes quite a while to get back to where I was. I work in a heavily secured environment. Lots of controls in place.

Just the cost of doing business I suppose. That's my whine for the day.
