To paraphrase Ian Poulter, if someone offered me big $$ to play golf (guaranteed) it's a no-brainer. Where it's coming from is probably a discussion for a different forum, but I can't fault these guys for chasing the $$ to play golf. Good for them, and good for Rory and everyone who grinds it out on the tour, whichever one it is.

I think LIV was good for the middle of the pack player who wasn't making big money on the PGA tour. The top players came off as being greedy because they were already making millions. Personally I don't like the whole LIV thing. Where the money comes from matters to me so I won't support them. Never watched once, never will.
 
As I've said in past posts, my goal every year is to break 90, as close as I've been able to get the last 2 years is a few 90's and 91's. Yesterday was different. I shot an 89, Birdied the 2nd, parred 7, 8, 9, and 15 and no worse that double boogie the rest of the round. The weather was perfect, sunny and mid 70's F. I sure hope I don't have a crappy round on Monday, that's usually what happens after a good round for me. ;)(
 
Couldn't watch the vid because they wanted me to sign in on a google acct that I don't have but I've seen the vid and it happened at a course not that far away from where I live. It was quite the hot topic a few weeks back and they were talking about it on local radio. ;)

Congratulations and well done.

I'm playing a course on Thursday that's a b!tch. Long, narrow, tons of slope, deep roughs and wicked fast greens. If I sniff 90 I'll be thrilled. I'm not very optimistic.
 
I wrote a while back that our course had closed. Well, a few guys leased it to try and make a go of it for a year and see how it goes. I’d already joined an Elks so now I’m in golf Purgatory.
Working my way into the fold of the Elks but will also be playing the old course with my buddies to support it.
Strange golf year for Bobcat.

Shot a 95. Not my best round by far but for only my 2nd time out this year I was pretty pleased considering how difficult the course is. I was definitely rusty and my fairway woods which are usually my strong suit were not good. Going out again today for an outing I was invited to. Hopefully I'll be more dialed in. Oh, my back is pretty good today. I'm a bit sore but I should be able to stretch it out. Onward!
 
I am lucky enough to have 4 eagles in my career. One was a hole in one, (the only one I have ever seen after playing for over 50 years and caddying for a decade). 2 on relatively short par 5‘s. my last one was the ugliest.180 out on a par 4 and I skulled a 5 iron that went bouncing along. It was so bad no one in the foursome watched the shot.I was over the green looking for my ball when one of them went to take the pin out and there was my ball. I believe what was said was, “you have to be ‘effin kidding me with that crap.” Getting a stroke from the host who was a 3 handicap, a net 1 for my card.
 
The closest I have come in recent years was 5 or 6 years ago, third shot from 180 on a par 5, hit an 18 degree hybrid to 8 inches short of dropping in the hole, nowadays I can barely hit driver off the tee 180 yards. :(
 
Got a one putt eagle yesterday morning on the first hole (par 5) of my favorite local course. Last year my buddy and I decided to move up to the old guy tees (we’re 72) and while I score a few strokes better, I kinda feel like I’m cheating. It definitely takes the challenge out of some of the more difficult holes on the course. That par 5 goes from 490 to about 410. 125 slope from the whites, don’t know about the gold.

@2526 time to act your age! I see horrible golfers playing from the white tees or heaven forbid the blues. Let’s face it if you are not a 10 or less you are not good enough to play from the back tees. Playing age appropriate tees allows for a chance here or there for a birdie and a couple of pars. Don’t worry, if your swing deserts you it doesn’t matter what tees you are playing from.
 
Why does this happen?

Last week went out with my son in law at a great local course. On the front 9 I played great. Drive right down the middle with nice distance, approach shots solid, even my irons and chipping game was decent and that's not my strong suit. Then at hole 12 it all went away. I couldn't hit anything right. So frustrating.
