This was one of the few LPs released by this Japanese group. Back in 2015 Amazon had it for $25. Then it was all sold out. You snooze, you loose. Dang it!
Recently found it on Discogs for 25€ in France. France seems to have a lot of them. Probably because the title being in French. The only other ones are in Japan and go for more than double, plus shipping which is as much the album.
Paid 9.5€($9.32) for shipping from France.

While not a monetary score, I'm stoked to finally have it in my music library.

That's the important part and what makes it a score in my book. I'd rather have 1 album I'm excited about then a whole box of cheap stuff That will just look pretty on a Kallax.

Oh I've bought a piles of inexpensive stuff. Just harder these days. :)
 
The Temper Trap - Conditions, 2009 LP.

I probably paid around $13-15 for this 1st release when it first came out. An AKer pointed out recently that an eBay sale on 4/2022 one went for $350. The average price since 2015 is $220. Score!

I've wanted that album for a while. Not nearly worth the price though. Same with Starflyer 59 first album. Which is the reason I dislike the way discogs averages prices.

It's one of those lucky buys that are worth something years later. I like the album, but didn't think it was that special. Supply and demand makes for crazy prices.

Btw... I think those prices were from eBay.

Had to pull 3 & 1/2 hours overtime this morning and walk home because my wife needed the car early. Stopped in my local on the way home and hot damn if one LP in New Arrivals didn't give me a second wind and put a spring in my step! Beautiful clean $5 copy of Linda Jones - Hypnotized on Loma, 1967. And yes, she is the greatest soul singer ever.
 
Stayed up way later then normal after getting off work from a 12 hour shift at 5 a.m hoping to check out a newly arrived collection at a local sort of record store. By the time I got there it was already massively picked over by a couple dealers (apparently it newly arrived Tuesday). I got there 4 minutes after the store was open and a dealer was already there filling a big clear tote of 7' doing the whole barcode scanning thing not even looking at condition. He must have pulled 150-200 7" took over 40 minutes for him to go through it all. The guy working behind the counter told me there was a dealer there the day before also. The whole collection when it came in was nearly 800 7" all from the early 2000s-2018. I spent much of the time sitting on the floor trying not to fall asleep. By the time that dealer left and the dealer(s) from days before went through everything their was less then 50 7" left. Kind of made the trip not worth it. But I got these. Standout of the group is Listener. I'd never heard them before but the guy behind the counter said they were good and after just the 2 songs on the 7" I'm hooked. Blaudzun isn't bad either. Made staying up worth it so that's a score I guess. Plus the guy gave me a discount for waiting so long and in his words "actually being into music". He was telling me the hardest part of pricing is trying to price high enough to keep dealers away but low enough that anyone can afford to enjoy music.

I collect mainly all forms of heavy metal from late 70s to the early 90s extreme, but heavily 80s focused. I do occasional buys on other genres, but that's really album specific. The only actual what I'd consider a collection is my heavy metal one. Nothing sort of super rare or super good price, but nice additions to my coll.

That's what it is all about.

I tend to take flyers on some cheap 7" stuff sometimes but with the ease of finding music on the phone I nearly always listen to a song or two before I buy anything, even when buying dollar stuff. I don't just fill the shelves anymore. I did that for 20+ years and it really stunted my life. I didn't realize till I got rid of over 20,000 (yes 4 zeros, lol) albums between cds, records, and cassettes how much having all that and constantly looking for more was affecting everything I did. I'm much happier with what I have and I listen to everything.
 
Stopped in my local earlier and in the vinyl New Arrivals I spied the cleanest copy I've ever seen of the second Supremes LP Where Did Our Love Go. Original Mono 1st pressing. Looking at Discogs I do not see any copies where the vinyl is better than VG+. This copy here has a solid EX cover and one vinyl side looks EX with some superficial whispy lines and the other side looks NM. It's a bit dusty, I'll know better after cleaning. $5.50!
 
I've been getting back into Linda Jones again since finding a really nice original vinyl copy of the Hypnotized LP for $4 several weeks ago. I grabbed a NM original vinyl pressing of the Your Precious Love LP on Turbo for $20 and also a great CD compilation on the Kent Soul label called Precious - The Anthology 1963-1972. This CD has most of the early various labels singles including one side of the Linda Lane 7".

This CD I received today though.....the few copies for sale in the usual places are $75+. So I spent some time one afternoon doing some deep digging online and eventually found a NM- used copy at a Washington state shop called Silver Platters. $9.99 + shipping! This one has a bunch of rare 7" sides not covered on the Kent Soul disc. I may be wrong but I think all I'm missing now as far as singles is the flip side of the Linda Lane 45 and maybe one other track. Gonna grab that 2nd Turbo LP when funds permit.

I went to a junk store today in Houston looking for some test speakers and saw they had a few stacks of records. I started flipping through them and they were all way overpriced. I found one stack that had the been priced yet and found a Crystal Method 9FA59BCC-D193-4B2E-874C-24245599EE83.jpeg record. I generally think records from the 90’s- 2000’s are more valuable since they made fewer so I took a stab at it and offered $10. They accepted and I got to the truck and checked the prices on Discogs and eBay. Looks like it’s worth at least $200 .
 
It's bitter sweet but I got a 12 year hunt grail item in the mail today. I bought this before the break in that had me lose 2/3rds of my music collection, stereo, computer and more. I saw this band in 2010 and wanted to get this single but they sold out 2 people before I could get to the merch booth. I'd been hunting it ever since and I have (had) the rest of their discography. This was supposed to complete the "collection". I will have to start over but at least I have the rarest item first. I can't listen to it and it's going to be months before I can replace the stereo but just having this is a bit of back to normal and makes me kind of emotional. This is the longest and hardest hunt I've ever had in my 20+ years of serious music listening/collecting between the break in and the hunt being it's really kind of hitting me hard.

Found these at a local thrift store that for some reason is a little honey hole for indie stuff buried in all the 101 strings and big band stuff. Mostly it is 7" going back to the early 90s but LPs also (usually sealed). The only thing I can guess is that they got in a big collection and slowly put it out to fill the bins instead of putting it all out. But when I ask they always just say everything gets put out as we get it we don't have a back room. I went last week and found a few 7" went back today and found these (that weren't there before).

Maybe they have a volunteer who collects? Or they just don't want people asking to go through what they have in the back. It's such an eclectic collection I would have liked to meet the person who's collection it was. We for sure have similar taste. I'll probably never know the story but I will keep going up and finding more.
