Buy one get one free sale at Vintage Stock a last weekend. Not only were these buy one get one free they were clearance. Less then 50 bucks for 6 albums (one of for a friend and I forgot what it was already)

Vintage Stock doesn't have much and it's a extremely odd collection but when they have the clearance sales and buy one get ones you can always find something.

Vintage Stock doesn't have much and it's a extremely odd collection but when they have the clearance sales and buy one get ones you can always find something.
Here's some used records I bought on RSD weekend. The Klaatu & Fever Tree were a buck a piece. They have rough covers but VG++ vinyl. The Sir Douglas Quintet is NM all a round.,$4. All the shops I hit had drug out all their boxes from the back room trying to clear up space. I don't think they had went through them very well, the Sir Douglas goes for about $30. I found other good records for a buck but they weren't music I was interested in.

One of my local record stores had a new Acoustic Sounds Series copy of Smokin' at the Half Note for $45. It was on my list, but honestly, I grimaced at the cost. I need to buy a cartridge and ... I walked away, but didn't stop thinking about it.
I recently cleaned out a storage room that had a box of records that I've had since the 80s and put away with some other things to save shelf space and as I was unpacking it, I picked out a short stack of things that I thought still didn't merit the shelf space. Mostly Beatles records that were far from original release and looking at them, I really didn't take very good care of my records back then. Jackets and inner sleeves trashed, most of them, not particularly clean vinyl, There were also a few not particularly good new wave records from otherwise good bands.
I kept everything that I thought I actually wanted and took about 10 to the shop hoping for $20 store credit to ease the sting of the record I wanted, but a little voice inside said ... "you'd take $15...be prepared for $10"
He offered me $85. I stared blankly at him, ask him to repeat it. Said okay and then asked what in there was so valuable? There was a Hard Days Night Soundtrack, that I know I didn't buy. It might have been in my in-laws house when we cleaned it out. There was also an album called "Rarities" that I did buy in the 80s for whatever LPs cost then and I remember thinking...only because I'm a Beatles nerd would this make sense, because it was sort of weird alternate takes of things that they had apparently released the correct take of on other records.
I kept Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road and a couple of early ones, which are actually my favorites. I also checked each of the ones I traded on Discogs before I took them down there and most were $2-3 and nothing was more than $10.
I got the Wynton Kelly/Wes Montgomery record, a modern Blue Note reissue of Idle Moments, a Joe Jackson record that I have on CD and enough change to buy a slice of pizza on the way home. I feel like I got away with something, but honestly I hope I didn't. I'm happy and hopefully it works out for the record store too. They're good people and it's great having them in the neighborhood.

At that price, it had better be an early tube-cut Parlophone.
The Beethoven Bicentennial set gets some abuse for having what some people consider to be rather uneven performances, but overall, they're quite nice, and having a comprehensive Beethoven set is great. I found about 2/3 of the set and the book (which is the same size as one LP box) at a thrift years ago, it took me a while to fill in the gaps with equally nice copies of the missing boxes. I think there are 17 boxes and the book which makes an 18th spot on the shelf.

Not quite a score.
Ordering this preorder was confusing. The Japanese limited double LP edition, clear vinyl was already couple hundred bucks last year. Then couple months later, they released an European preorder in clear vinyl for $35. So I canceled the first clear, ordered the European version. Couple months later, still waiting, I forgot where it was. I checked and only saw the first canceled clear vinyl. Confused I ordered another one, which was black only for $14.95 or something. They were going fast, especially after his death.
Last week both showed up in the same box from Amazon. I was going to return the $35 one. But then realized it's probably the clear version. Both are still sealed and both album jackets are identical, super fancy trip-fold.
Initially I thought I was saving couple hundred, but then thought I was saving $20. I want the clear vinyl, but opening the wrong one, I end up paying an extra $35. I know it's not that much, but still... lol.

Today I am overjoyed from buying a record I have absolutely no interest in! Why you ask? Because it has a Second Coming Records sticker on it! This was my all-time favorite 2nd hand vinyl shop located on Sullivan St. in Greenwich Village. The proprietor was a cool chap named Andre and I spent mucho $$$ in this place in the 1980's. I have not seen a Second Coming sticker since the 1980's in the shop and never in the wild. Only cost me $2. I'm gonna carefully remove it and affix it to the plynth of my SL1200MKII.
I left very early and went to see the lady that I bought that box of reggae 45s from last weekend. This week she brought her brothers funk and soul 45's. Most are in super condition too EX to NM. There's more than a few vanity/private issue things I've never heard of too. I bought 55 singles total.
