Hi All. Not sure if this is okay to post here or not, but I'm looking for a replacement platter to fit a 1200mk2. If anyone has or knows of one, please point me in the right direction!
do you mean the platter or the matt? Almost all cast aluminum platters (including the 1200 ring like a bell when tapped with a pencil. If you all a brass platter matt to the aluminum platter then add the rubber mat on top you'll damp the aluminum platter very well. KAB used to sell a similar platter matt. Not sure if they still do or not. If you have not replaced the main bearing you may want to consider doing that first.

It makes it a little harder to adjust, but not that bad.

It will obscure the index mark. But you can still see it looking sideways under the trough. It doesn't hinder the movement of the ring.

I have the GR2 and don't see any need for a fluid damper... a tonearm lifter IMO is a much better accessory. Since I installed a heavier cartridge (AT-VM740xML at 9 grams) I was able to add the 10 gram weight to the end of the tonearm then move the counterweight very close to the pivot point- the arm doesn't do the tiny Left to Right wiggle anymore.
I haven't seen the need for a fluid damper for my Technics or SME arm. I like keeping things OEM. Call me "Mr Square Peg."

An all time 80's classic ! I love most of the 80's music because there were so many "One Hit Wonders" that there was always something fresh to listen to, I never got bored hearing the same old songs over and over and over (like the "Classic Rock" radio stations we have today).
